Another thing that comes to mind is the relatively few Ring magazine fights of the year which are in here. Again this is from the top of my head as I have neither the top 50 or the FOTY year list to hand just in a rush here, but notably absent since 1940 alone but excluding 2020 are (forgive errors): Louis Conn 1, Pep Wright 1, LaMotta Dauthille 1, Zale Graciano 1 and 2, Pep Saddler 2, umpteen Carmen Basilio scraps including the second against SRR, Clay Jones, Benvenuti Griffiths 1, Young Foreman, Frazier Quarry 1, Ward Gatti 3, Ward Augustus, Patterson Chuvalo, Gatti Ruelas, Spinks Ali 1, Lopez Ayala, Tapia Ayala 1, Lopez Lockridge 1, Foster Finnegan, Quiroga Anifowoshe, Gonzalez Carbajal 1 and Gonzalez Sorjaturong, Robinson Gatti 1, Castro Jackson, Marquez Diaz 1, Sithchatchawal Monshipour, Segura Calderon 1, Vargas Salido, Matthyse Molina, Bradley Provodnikov, Inoue Donaire, Berto Ortiz, Alvarez Golovkin 2. There will be others. I don't know what this means but it's kind of interesting, huh?
I think he jumped back into the vortex that brought him back to the parallel universe he originally came from.
FYI - I think I'm planning to start at least 1 new Survey sometime fairly soon. Been playing with a bunch of ideas, and trying to think of which one will be the most fun.
Definitely. I'll Unstick these threads when I do (and link back to each in the new Survey, which I will Lock instead).
So basically, I've been playing around with several ideas. 1. Something Trainer related (although I'm not quite sure what). 2. A two-parter, basically Best KO's and Most Impressive masterclasses - so best fights ending in KO, and best performances that go the distance. 3. Fantasy Match-Ups/Dream Fights 4. Best P4P Boxers from each decade (1930s through 2010s). I'd still like to do those above 4 at some point. But what I think I'm going to do next is far more simple. Basically, a Boxing Fan Favorite Survey. Where I will have each volunteer simply provide me with a list of their favorite boxers in history. So that's going to be next, I think. I'll probably officially begin it some time next week. Just debating over whether I want people to submit a Top 25 or a Top 50 or somewhere in between. On a separate note, I'm always open to Survey suggestions, and if I ever use an idea provided by another, I'll be sure to credit the idea accordingly.
I may wind up going with 35. I would just need to adjust the point allocations for that. Still debating the number in my head, but I will post the official survey some time in the next few days, and I'll probably keep it open for 1 month.
