Rocky Marciano vs Canelo Alvarez

I'm sure Canelo supporters would say that Moore wasn't as good as him...

 

I’ll sat it again like I’ve said it in other threads. It’s Rocky’s supporters who are ruining his reputation. They are the one’s who are making him overrated by making him out to be the fighter he was not.

 

What’s Moore got to do with Camelot? Like what has Norton, Frazier and Foreman got to do with each other. Styles make fights.

 

Before you say anything I meant Canelo.

 

What Canelo does better than Moore?

 

Not fight Rocky when he’s a granddad.

 

That's not the answer, I asked simply question. Moore was still top tier HW when he fought Marciano.

 

Moore even at 38 was still several levels better than Canelo.

 

Top tier? He was in his twighlight years. I’m not saying Canelo beats Marciano but saying it would depend on styles.

 

I agree. What I’m saying is styles makes fights. Look at Ali, Frazier and Foreman as an example.

 

Moore is the closest style to Canelo that Marciano fought.

 

Great discussions. Will this finally dispel the myth that Rocky can even live today’s heavyweights. We got into a discussion about a former welterweight and light heavyweight and Rocky’s ass kissers still think he beats today’s monsters.

Canelo is a counter puncher, Moore was much better counter puncher than Canelo with a lot more power. He was also significantly better defensively.

I agree, styles are very important. That's why Rocky would beat Canelo.

 

Ok. Rocky didn’t have Canelo’s skill. But he has weight advantage. What I’m saying is even though Canelo probably doesn’t beat Marciano his own fans will say it’s because of weight advantage. The very same point they ignore when they discuss Rocky’s chances against today’s heavyweights. As far as Moore and Canelo’ is concerned Moore I’m not disputing Moore is greater.
