and that's exactly why i never see you getting emotionally invested in the achievements of others, which shadow clearly can't do.
    it's a credit to you.

I didn't criticize him, I merely pointed out that GGG is Canelo's signature win as I noticed in his video that he repeated several times the idea that Canelo hasn't had a signature win yet and was still seeking one. He was acting like Canelo hadn't beaten GGG already and at one point in the video was claiming that Canelo still had a lot of work to do before he could be considered on the level of Mayweather or Pacquiao. This is the same sort of thing that we've been dealing with on here, not wanting to accept what happened in the Canelo GGG fights, pretending that win didn't happen then trying to mold Canelo's legacy without that piece of the equation in an effort to conclude that he needs to do more in his career.

I gotta be honest, I was a little surprised that Rumsfeld's video wasn't about what Canelo just did to Billy Joe Saunders, you know landing that sensational uppercut and making him retire on his stool. I was expecting Rumsfeld to talk about that, how impressive that was to him and how such a massive win boosts Canelo's legacy. I was looking for Rumsfeld to break down what happened there. But I didn't hear anything about that in the video, all I heard was arguments based in the idea that Canelo didn't beat Triple G and that Canelo isn't in the same league as Mayweather or Pacquiao.

If we're honest, Billy Joe Saunders could easily be considered yet another Canelo signature win. After all, Billy was a 2 weight World Champ and undefeated at 30-0. And unlike the GGG win, there's no controversy here, no scorecards to cry about, no judging conspiracies to use to try and argue that Canelo didn't really win, no advantages that Canelo had, hell Billy even got his bigger ring, so Billy was the one making the demands now wasn't he. In the last 5 months, Canelo has beaten 2 previously unbeaten World Title Holders at Super Middleweight, and he's done so in dominating fashion. This is a monumental achievement, but all I see is people trying to do anything they can to gloss over this or try to marginalize what just happened.

But Aussie you keep trying to bring it back to Mayweather Canelo which happened 8 years ago instead being in the here and the now. This is the problem people are having. They're trying to do anything they can to remind you of Canelo's lone defeat that happened ages ago. I think it's because they're having trouble dealing with what happened to Billy over the weekend. Canelo just proceeded to do something legendary, and I think it's about time that we appreciate what Canelo accomplished, not only over the weekend but throughout his career, and start giving him credit for everything he achieved in this sport up to this point, rather than trying to detract from his accomplishments. Instead of looking back at the Mayweather performance and trying to argue that it was some kind of Master class by Mayweather, I think we need to focus more on where we are now and what this win over Billy does for Canelo's legacy.

One robbery is bad enough, 2 is just unacceptable. He deserves credit for the fights he really won and credit for those he lost. Wins and losses don't all go on a celebrated win column.

He beat, Fielding, Jacobs, Kovalev, Smith,Yildirim, and Saunders, he accomplished great things, you can call all of them signature wins if you like, but he didn't beat GGG. He deserves credit for giving him a great couple fights only.

Canelos legacy is tainted. Lost badly to Floyd. Got favorable judging against Lara, GGG. Ped scandal, unfair rehydration clauses, rude to fellow boxers in press conferences, backstabbed and disloyal to the guy who made him what he is today, willing to blind a fellow boxer deliberately just to win a boxing match.

He will have these asterisks next to him permanently

That's the exact issue I have tho, every close fight has to be a robbery nowadays? I'm pretty sure just as many people that feel the way you did about the outcome also feel the opposite is true also. That's the furthest thing from a robbery. Robbery in 2021 translates to: my guy didn't win.:crybaby2:

More than a few folks saying his signature / biggest / most impressive win Is that shot shell of a Kovalev? Really???

Did any of you guys not see Kovalev go life and death with ANTHONY YARDE only 8 weeks before. Even ignoring the short training camp does anyone seriously think that Yarde would last more than 3 rounds with Canelo???

Blatant cherry pick with short training camp, knowing full well that Kova needed the moeny and wouldn't turn down the payday!

Canelo gets some points from me for being clever enough to see the opportunity for a name and a title grab, but no one is gonna convince me that win is worth anymore than Calzaghes over RJJ, and everyone knows that don't mean ****.

If Ward didn't already break Kovalev and layout the blueprint, then the other Alvarez (Eleider) and the vodka surely did. Canelo just mopped up the scraps!

Canelo's "signature wins" if we want to use that term are all tainted (like Mexican Beef!):-
    1) Kova - as above
    2) GGG II - on my card closer than GGG I (I scored it 115-113 GGG on the night and on last viewing had a draw), but after the 1st fight where a draw was as good as I could conceibaly give Canelo I think getting the rub of the green TWICE is a bit much
    3) Miguel Cotto - had no business being at 160 (or is that 155? lol), and was shot to ****. He still gave Canelo fits though.
    4) Callum Smith - as Mundo won the WBSS and was regarded by many as 168 #1 this is a decent win. But anyone that really follows boxing would have been saying for ages that Smith ain't no Froch/Calzaghe type HOFer. Ryder did enough to get the nod against Smith IMO.
    5) Billy Joe Saunders - his best win being Andy Lee @160 by a pretty wide margin. (I don't really rate the Lemmy and Eubank Jr wins that highly - taylor made for Saunders and he still made tough work of a very green Eubank Jr!). At 168 Saunders has never looked even remotely good.
    6) Erislandy Lara - hotly contested, with Lara making Canelo look positively amateurish at times, but spoiling his own good work by being far too much on his bike. On scoring I'd have given Lara the nod, but even I had trouble with how blatantly he was running.
    7) Daniel Jacobs - as always Jacobs comes up short and doesn't do remotely enough to get a win at the top level - he hardly did anything 1-6! Once he decided to actually start throwing, I felt he had some good success but Canelo had built up such a lead he could coast.

None of this is "Canelo-hating" - I actually think he's quite likable tbh, and don't see all the tin-foil hat stuff that others do - but these are the facts as I see them.

bs, when did Canelo ever lose a close decision? In the first fight they saved him from a loss, in the 2nd fight they saved him from a loss or another draw. In Canelo's case its heads i win, tales i win. Part of the problem is Golovkin does need to build up his own resume outside the Canelo fights, because nobody gets a fair shake vs Canelo that is a given. Everybody going against him today already knows that you must knock him out to win. If Floyd wasn't the bigger draw he would have lost, and the Canelo groupies would be saying, deal with it. Golovkin will always be known for tieing Hopkins all time middleweight title defense record, and the most by KO, so at least they cant steal that from him, because you know they would if they could.

I think your problem is that you're taking boxing decisions personally like you have some kind of emotional investment in it. You've come to a conclusion that Canelo isn't as great as he is and thus didn't deserve to win the decisions he won. It's like you have some kind of vendetta against Canelo and aren't recognizing how well he did vs GGG or in other matches like Lara. When you say things like nobody gets a fair shake vs Canelo, that's a thought that you have generated in your mind that has no basis in reality.

And the fact that you're still harping on decisions from years ago when those things are long gone means that you are wholly "living in the past" and aren't paying attention to what just happened. Instead of living in the past, move into the present and lets talk about what a great performance Canelo gave last weekend. There was no controversy there, and it's pathetic that you continue to harp on things that happened years ago rather than focus on what just happened. It's time for you to wipe away those GGG tears, let it go, move beyond that and enter the present day.

Canelo is the best fighter in the world. So it should be no surprise that the best fighter in the world has had the kind of victories he had throughout his career. It would be great to see you overcome your bitterness towards what Canelo did to GGG, accept what happened and move forward. The sooner you do that the sooner you can appreciate what Canelo has achieved. Otherwise you're just going to continue being miserable living every day re-living the beatdown he put on GGG and trying to pretend like that didn't happen. Don't take Canelo's victory over GGG so personally. It happened, it's over and done with. Canelo was the better man, don't fight it, move on and learn to appreciate what Canelo has achieved in the sport.

    Best liver belt :aplastao:

Canelo is most boring boxer for me I ever in my life had watched. Especially his fans posts in forums and YT comments.
I hope his liver will process natural horsemeat and natural beef meat properly till end of his life.
