For me he looks very boring if compare with Foreman, Floyd Jr, DHL in their prime. Very boring boxer in hometown and obsessed fans. I had watched Khan fight and listened comments etc. No any more. Thanks, this was end of interest on him from me to watch his fights.
I expect nothing but greatness coming from someone who gave GGG two tough fights and made it 12 rounds twice.He continues to raise GGG'S stock with every fight and i appreciate what he is doing. Just like some are proud of Canelo for making Floyd look better with every fight.Both have victory's over Canelo, some official and others not, but in the court of public oppinion they are official. Not at all. If someone observe the ascending lines of the career of each one (GGG and Canelo), just after the GGG fights the Canelo one is steep towards greatness, separating himself from that of the diva GGG, stagnated this one by fighting relative nobodies, and not testing waters up, very content with his paydays without risk.
For sure, his most ravid haters will never appreciate him, but those who are mentally stable are starting to come around.
I appreciate Canelo. That said, everyone has a ceiling and a level that they run into at some point in their career. I believe that Beterbiev would stop Canelo pretty violently to be honest. He is just too strong and is physically too much for Canelo. However, Canelo's boxing skills are 10 times better than Beterbiev's. Credit where credit is due, Canelo is elite in every level. I'm just not a rabid fanboy who fellates their favourite fighter for the sake of it.
I don't deny his greatness, i just deny him coming out ahead in a series he should be behind in. Canelo's greatest official victory is by far GGG and GGG'S biggest victory by far is against Canelo, at the very least both fighters should be able to claim a victoy over the other, not just one. Sugar Leonard has 2 wins over Duran not 3, because he Duran won the first one in a great fight, Duran will always get credit being the first to beat SRL,there was no backlash about that fight because the result was fair. It would be the same for the Canelo GGG series if the results were fair. GGG fans wouldn't be nearly as inflamed as they are now, they would only have the 2nd fight to be annoyed about, but that would be reasonable.So ok, he got the draw he didnt deserve, at the expense of alot of fans resenting him, it didn't have to be this way, but you can't have it both ways.
Tbh his stamina is B- at best, he became more precise and better at conserving energy, but its still bad.
I think Bivol would give him a much more complicated fight. Beterbiev with all his brute strength is a pretty straight up and down fighter and not difficult to figure imo out. Sure Beterbiev can possibly land something and hurt him, but I'd probably favor Canelo.
Golovkin winning both fights is just your opinion. The fact is that Canelo won the rematch and drew the first fight. Imo Canelo won the first fight too, but it's just my opinion and I'm not going to spend all day crying about it. For example, it's my opinion that JMM is 4-0 against Pacquiao, but I didn't spend years crying about how he was cheated. Of course I'll give my opinion when the fight is being discussed but be bitter about it no way. JMM had Pacquiao's number, and Pacquiao gave JMM hell each time they fought so I'm not getting too worked up about who thought who won, especially because in terms of points the first two were very close. I felt GGG-Canelo both had very close fights and each time Canelo landed more power punches, and made Golovkin miss more.
I think he is talking about the results, everybody knows who is going to win. Its Canelo by hook or by crook. No decision suspense what so ever.
Finally had a chance to watch this latest installment. Good work again @Rumsfeld Canelo has had an amazing run so far. I said it in another thread but he's only 30yrs young and has the chance to put 60-70 wins on his record before he hangs them up. Not to mention he has wins over GGG, BJS, Lara, Cotto, Smith, Jacobs, Trout and Kovalev. So far so good is an understatement and God willing he'll be listed amongst the greats when it's all said and done.
That's the rub tho isn't it? Who's to say he's supposed to lose a close decision. Those words mean exactly that: close. Up in the air. Not clear. Golovkin would have done himself well if he'd have ko'd the hype job from a weightclass down his fans swore he'd annihilate. That's not what history will show however. History will show the guy from the lower weightclass came up and fought him to a near standstill and then edged him out in the rematch. And since you have a preconceived notion that Noone will get a fair shake against Canelo your end judgment will always hold the same amount of weight as you think Adalaide Byrde's scorecards hold.....it's unfortunate because you allow hatred to interfere with your participation as a boxing fan. And hell no Floyd would have gotten the nod even if he wasn't as big a star. That was a completely different scenario than the actual close decisions you deride. Had Canelo won that fight on the cards, yeah it's a robbery at gun point because that was a blow out. At the end of the day, judging in boxing is subjective Af because it relies on opinion. Keep that in mind.....
