Canelo Alvarez vs Billy Joe Saunders: Your Scorecards?

Lol seems the more vocal crowd are those who scored it for BJS, while most board members scored it for Canelo.

 

Basically this. Saunders won what canelo wanted him to win in order to deplete him. And even with canelo doing nothing but to beg saunders to throw anything, saunders was incredibly shy and threw very very few punches.

I obvserved 3 things:
- canelo did NOT cut the ring at any moment. That's weird, because this canelo can cut the ring very very well, nothing to do with the 21 yo canelo who didnt know how to. And nevertheless, he didnt want to do it, and he didnt do it at any moment, never.
- canelo hit the body and the body and the body and the body again. A complete obsession with the body punches.
- canelo did not know what to do in order to make saunders throw anything, he was desperate. Stood there for years doing nothing just waiting for saunder to, at least, throw a jab.

what canelo wanted with those 3 things:
- wanted saunders to run arround the ring to deplete him
- wanted saunders body to be destroyed to deplete him
- wanted saunders to throw anything to deplete him

canelo's superiority was embarrasing to witness. In this ring only happened what canelo wanted to happen, period. Nothing else, not even a tiny little thing else.

I honestly was very, I mean VERY, disapointed with BJS. And not because of he quitting, it has nothing to do with it.

EDIT: and btw, injury or not, NO WAY IN HELL BJS would have seen the end of the fight standing.

 

Can you blame them for keeping quiet, based on the reactions of some of the staff that night. (LOL)

 

Of course its clear, he stopped him. The fight ended.

When Billy made Canelo miss that hook, that should be counted when deciding who wins a round, don't you think? I don't know how many punches landed that should offset, but missing a punch wildly should certainly be considered if a round is super close.

 

You know some fools on here have even had the temerity to claim the right uppercut Canelo landed in round 8 to break Saunders eye socket was a fluke otherwise Saunders would have won.

 

Keep in mind that this is all academic because Billy hoe, aka spartan quit on his stool.

I had BJS winning 2 rounds on my scorecard. The rest was Canelo.
BJS looked predictable, slow and out of touch vs Canelo.
BJS jab was falling short up to RD5, and he looked damn nervous in there.
Canelo was hunting him down, slowly figuring him out, hurting his body, setting him up, and boom. When the end came I wasn't surprised at all.

RD8 could also be scored as a 10-8 round.

Amir Khan; and this is saying something, won more rds vs canelo than BJS ever did.
Let that **** sink in.....

 

He meant to throw the punch. He meant to hurt BJS with the punch.

Dude how in the hell was Billy gonna get stopped? Did you watch rounds 7 and half way through 8, Canelo looked frustrated af swinging and missy and Billy was coming on strong.. Billy made a stupid mistake and Canelo brutalised his entire face for it though

 

I agree with this basically, but I do want to make the point that this was a lot more work than Yildirim and Smith got out of him.

 

Basically every close round goes for Canelo regardless even if he's punching elbows and arms. I agree with your scorecard apart from 3, but even then you could very reasonably give it to Billy..

I really like how the narrative from DAZN and fanboys have prevailed.. All that I see paraded around is the two uppercuts from Canelo which is fair enough as the last one was a good shot (albeit too damn predictable from Billy - get into bad habits when you're last three opponents are past it/trash). The media/fangirls totally have disregarded any work which Billy did and acted if it was blowout. Billy did amazingly well considering he's a natural 160lber and inactive/fighting cans

I feel like Billy, although he should have been up on the scorecards, was almost shaking off the ring rust (which is essentially what it is) rounds 1-4 and that the uppercut Canelo landed in round 4 woke him up and almost got him some what into action. Rounds 7 and halfway 8 Canelo was looking one dimensional and Billy looked like he flowing well but I feel he got overconfident in round 8 and well obviously he paid for it. I hadn't seen Canelo look so useless since the Floyd fight

I remember an interview Billy had with IFL after the Murray fight and Billy literally said he needed one more fight before the Canelo (hinting he was not ready).. Heck he even says after the Murray fight that his timing was off
