Eye catching shots count because they are effective. Your comments show your ignorance and lack of knowledge.
I'll give BJ's credit looked much better in there than I expected. But he bagged a few rounds early on 2,4,5,6 might be a be a bit generous there . Only going off memory and only watched it on the night. Canelo was looking for a TKO, so makes score cards a mute point. Canelo knew exactly what he was doing and that he could take BJ's best shots. Was a very clever performance from canelo knew actually what he was doing
The standard shadow lengthy and convuluted paragraph spin.. Its not a debate on Canelo scorecards without them
But my point is that he doesn't land enough of them to give him the round by default. He gets outworked & outlanded for most of the round, but all he needs to do is land 2 or 3 dramatic eye-catching shots to win a round he was losing for 2 & 1/2 mins.
General waffle, hyperbole created to deviate & misconstrue from the point that would have turned up another glaring & obvious fact. Shadows mental state cannot accept ...in short he is suffering from anosognosia
That also assumes BJS is landing decent shots himself. It's hard to have good discussions about these when it's a round by round basis. Technically we should be arguing these round by round and discuss all 4 criteria. Too me clean punches count more, and big heavy shots count the most. I wrote some notes for myself where I felt 6 and 7 were close and thought Canelo did better earlier in round 6, while BJS did better later in the round. In round 7 I thought BJS did better earlier in the round, Canelo better later in the round. I personally scored those for Canelo, but don't have an issue if people thought otherwise. I had it 6-2 for Canelo, but if I gave BJS 6 and 7 that would have it tied up. I'm still sticking to my score because that is what I saw, but I also like hearing people's perspectives. However you also gotta recognize 39(56.5%) vs 18(26.1%) posters were seeing Canelo ahead even though most posters on this board were rooting for BJS that night 39 (41.9%) vs 35 (37.6%). https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/who-do-you-want-to-win-canelo-vs-saunders.667287/
6-2. 5-3. canelo or 4-4 round 1 and 5 were clear BJS round 6 and maybe round 4 were cose enough to give to BJS too
Why should Saunders be penalized if Canelo has a good chin? If he landed more on Canelo then the other way around but if Canelo is blessed with game changing power where 1-2 punches make a very loud sound, the fact Saunders landed more even if his punches didn't have much effect because Canelo has a good chin still means he gets more points in the round
I can appreciate your line of thinking, but this isn't amateur boxing where they count number of punches, it's based on the 4 criteria. Judging boxing gets us back to our most primal reason we watch boxing, to see who hurts who more. I'll give you this analogy to think about. So what if a pistol unloads 30 rounds at a tank if the damage is negligible. Likewise if the tank does more damage with one canon blast I would consider that more effective. The power differential isn't that big between most fighters so I'll give you that when it comes to judging most fights. However in this case Canelo was landing a lot of bombs that were rocking BJS's head back, making him wince, and making him cover up. Also in this case I wasn't counting punches, but I didn't see a big differential where BJS was landing much more either.
What's the point of blocking shots on your arms and gloves if people are going to still score them against you? But we're dealing with people who score shots to your plums, thighs and knees as legal scoring blows so it is what it isn't This content is protected
Not only are low blows scoring blows, they count for extra points! I highly encourage this amongst my pupils if there are ever in a street fight situation. I feel B247 should have a low blow emoji.
