If he beats Beterbiev legitimately he will get credit. If he beats him by a crooked decision he won't, but his loyalist will justify it as usual. Do you here any complaints about his wins over Fielding, Jacobs, Smith,Yildrim, Kovalev, and Saunders? Well some said something about Kovalev, but the main beef was the GGG decisions and for good reason.
The fight hasnt even been talked about yet and people already have beterbiev pitching a shutout.. we know what it is, which is why i made that post.
What matters is when those two lines met and the true result needed to be acknowledged. The trajectory of their careers should be going in different directions, GGG is 9 years older and Canelo is entering his prime.
GGG could have been great, but he lacked one thing, Self belief. He could have fought Charlo, Andrade, Gilberto Ramirez, Lara, Trout, Ward and a few others, but he didn't want greatness. He wanted money.
Kovalev fight? Since I had watched Yarde vs Kovalev and Eleider vs Kovalev I and II fights I had been surprised that Kovalev walked so long vs Canelo. Yeah, and I'm not Canelo nor Kovalev fan. I had scored almost all rounds for Kovalev vs Canelo until he started gass out and lost attention. This already had happened with him in fight vs Yarde ( fought normally, then lost 100% attention ) and Eleider I fight too had happened the same. Repetition. Kovalev ofc was with belt then, still his perspectives did not looked good even if he had to do rematch vs Yarde not fight vs Canelo.
I would guarantee Canelo will put in many conditions and Beterbiev will be at least 37 by the time it happens if not 38. The most disappointing thing is, Beterbiev is getting old and I can imagine he would love a massive payday (and Canelo is the only realistically huge huge payday there) and therefore bow down to any conditions Canelos team requests. This would then be added to Canelo's completely tainted and manufactured legacy
I would love it if Canelo put in all the restrictions only for Beterbiev to violently spark him BTW I dont think he would accept the crippling conditions by the way. He is a Ramzan Kadyrov partisan and would never lose his honour. Look at Chimaev turn against Khabib just for not waving the Russian flag; all Kadyrov's doing and puppet string pulling. If Beterbiev sold out he would probably be shot dead to be honest.
