Taylor's better boxer by far...but ever since the fight was announced I've had a feeling that Ramirez will stop him .
Taylor is too quick and long. Ramierez has done well against taller fighters but Taylor is better than Amir Imam and Mo Hooker. Ramirez's head movement is not his strongest suit and Taylor's fast combo's and feet from the outside make it a tough night at the office fro Ramierez.
I don’t know a great deal about Ramirez but I have been impressed by Taylor so it’s one I am looking forward to.
50/50 Slight edge to Taylor for overall skills & resume. however, both guys can hurt each other. Josh can out box him easily but will choose to engage in a firefight with him the second Ramirez lands a decent shot, too much dawg in him. Should be a Great fight. May the best dawg win.
Taylor is the better fighter and should win but there's a very good chance he'll get robbed fighting over in the US and him only having fought one round in 18 months and not having the excellent Shane McGuigan in his corner anymore are concerns. McGuigan is one of the best trainers out there and a great strategist and I have full faith that he'd devise the best possible game plan to maximize Taylor's chances of winning if he was.
Don't worry. It isn't going to the scorecards. Zepeda rocked him several times, as did Postol. Although he hid it well. Not to mention Ramirez has always struggled against southpaws. Taylor will do a number on him from the outside, then take it to the inside midway and polish him off.
There's always a possibility, I think I might trust Top Rank scorers least of all. But I think even if it does. Taylor will dominate him so comprehensively, they'll be simply incapable of robbing him. At least Postol and Zepeda, who did get robbed in my estimation, get two judges to give them draws. Which is impressive, since those two matches were actually close. So if The Tartan Tornado does the number on him that I think he will. He might not give the judges any choice. Although I'm not taking the dreaded Split Draw off the table.
I've got Taylor by decision, as long as he doesn't under-use his jab which he's been guilty of before and uses his length to negate Ramirez's uppercuts and body shots. I think Taylor's got by far the better all-round game and I can't see a stoppage either way, personally. My main concern is that this will be Taylor's first proper test without McGuigan in his corner - and I'm far from sold on Ben Davison just yet. If the going gets really tough, I'm not convinced Davison will provide the cool head, good reading of the fight and sound tactical advice which McGuigan did, especially in the Baranchyk fight. If that doesn't prove to be an issue then I think Taylor takes this with a little to spare.
Yeah the fact that Taylor is signed to one of the biggest American promotional firms Top Rank should ease my concerns but it actually doesn't at all
I hadn't actually heard that. Not sure how that slipped past me. But come to think of it. That almost ensures a Split Draw. Goddammit!
