Eddie took a big swing, but the sheik never came through with the money (so Arum could buy Wilder off) and Wilder had a signed agreement. Wilder KO1 Fury (Fight 3) It's going to be a four-fight series. (LOL)
If this has to happen, get it over quick. A 5 week camp should be enough, both have been training and out for a year. They've already trained for each other twice anyway. Fury will beat him again.
This content is protected Tyson Fury has been inactive for 15 months. I think if he knocks out Wilder again, he will be more fresh for the Anthony Joshua fight. Also, it will give Wilder and his team another chance to properly check Tyson Fury's gloves to make sure nothing has been tampered with. Then they will have (slightly) less excuses to give out.
Fury can fight Joshua 14 August and still beat Wilder one month later no problems; good luck promoting the fight though!
To me I always assumed Bob Arum had an idea this was possible which is why he constantly slighted the fight at every mention. I still remember when he said he and Fury went to the last arbitration meeting with Wilder. I knew then he might have heard something that convinced him that Wilder may win. This has nothing to do with the WBC belt. The signed an ironclad contract saying that fighter A must face fighter B regardless of the outcome in the rematch. Similar contract Andy Ruiz signed when he fought AJ.
Now that would be the stuff of legend. As long as Fury doesn't take damage in the AJ fight, he could do it.
Fury brought this on himself. He should’ve put Wilder on the spot last year and made Wilder a reasonable offer to get this over with, since Fury could’ve won the arbitration if he made Wilder a reasonable offer and Wilder declined.
There was no glove tampering, ref, officials and a member of wilders team would’ve watched wraps applied and checked gloves prior to fight. Just one of many excuses on why he got the walloping of his life
does an arbitrator has legal authority ? im asking because in my country they(arbitrators) are used between parties to settle issues without going to court.. some kind of advisory for both parties.
I'm genuinely not sure if they do actually, the judge that made the "ruling" was retired so not sure if this is indeed legally binding, it's a much more informal process than actually going to court as I understand it. You would assume so though for this to have made the news.
You make a legally binding agreement, either when the contract was signed or when they began arbitration to abide by the results. They could go to court, but what they would need to prove is some kind of bad faith or serious problem with the arbitration process (like Marcellus Wilder was the arbitrator or something).
Well Mr Fury you can call Wilder a dosser all you like but he had that signed rematch contract which you signed up to, so he either becomes a even richer dosser taking many millions as step aside money or Mr Fury is going to have to get motivated and train for bout number three with the dosser Wilder. We cannot overlook possibility as others have said, that Fury can use this as way of not fighting AJ but the fault would not be his. The financial backers of this mega money bout I am sure can find many millions to pay Wilder off if they so choose, using the old mantra "You gotta speculate to accumulate"
