It's gonna be a tough fight for both fighters I strongly believe. Both fighters are the World Champions with 2 belts each.
My biggest worry for Taylor is how he is gonna pick himself up after his beloved Hibernian are smashed in the Scottish Cup Final by St Johnstone!!! Be strong Josh, dig deep!!! Yes, I'm a Saints fan for my sins. The odds on us doing a cup double at start of the season would be on par with Leicester winning the Premiership a few years back.
Do you rate Ramirez that low or Taylor that high or both? I think Taylor in skills is above Ramirez, but I don't think Ramirez is an easy night's work for anyone at 140 either.
This is my take on it. IMO Davison could be the problem when things go into deep water. Let's face it he has never been there, living off the Fury 11th round miracle which was purely down to the fighter that night and a higher power.
I think Ramirez is a very average, if not below average, champion. He should also have 2 loses on his record. Zepeda and Postol beat him. Years back I predicted here, that Josh Taylor will become Scotland's ATG. There is not too many great boxer's from Scotland so it's not that difficult to achieve. I think Taylor has the drive & determination to build a great resume. He has skills, size & length. I rate him highly. Maybe not as highly as some super-fans here who are saying should he beat Ramirez he should be above Errol Spence Jr. in the P4P rankings (which is absurd) but I do think he has a lot of potential, especially in an almost completely dead division at 140. Ramirez is easy work for Taylor. I think it will be one of his easiest fights. Similar to when he fought overmatched Ryan Martin (who had no business in being in a tournament at 140). The real fight that we should all be salivating over is the rematch. Taylor Vs Progais was way too close to call. It's the real fight for number 1 at 140.
If it pans out like you say I will be happy, but think it will be closer - Ryan Martin is a tad harsh on Ramirez, that kid was way too nice!!!
Huge amount of time for Regis, class act. Took the decision against Taylor with dignity which says a lot when it could be himself going up for undisputed.
Yeah he's a very likeable guy and a top fighter. I think both Taylor and him are better than JCR but I'm a fan of all three and I think they're all quality and neither are easy fights for the other. JCR's stock dropped a bit for me after the Postol fight but he's still very good.
