We lost on an unification fight, but got two better fights instead....what's not to like?

I'm going with the second, as much as undisputed is the end goal.

This whole affair has dragged on so long, whilst clearly causing the top division to grind to a halt. Getting things moving again has to be seen as a positive.

Plus for me, Usyk has waited long enough.

 

Agree the Heavyweight title has ground to halt so things moving is good.

Unsure how it could be said Usyk has waited long enough, i have no issue with him fighting AJ for title, but he has only fought twice in heavy division.
Beating Witherspoon and Chisora is good but does not necessarily mean you are deserving of being the man at head of queue for title shot.

 

So long as Fury and Joshua both win, this thing will become the hugest boxing event in history because of all the High Stakes DRAMA.

Will top Mayweather vs Pacquiao, and be the most special event of our generation. So I really look forward to it, and am rooting for Fury Joshua STRONGLY.

 

He was undisputed Cruiserweight champion. He moved up under the rules that he would be WBO mandatory. Same as Bud Crawford did at 147.

WBO made Usyk their mandatory 2 years ago. Joshua has never fought a WBO mandatory. So there's not much to discuss beyond that.

But aside from that, looking at his time at HW, beating Chisora is on par if not better than the majority of what title challengers have achieved in recent years at Heavyweight.

So he has waited long enough.

, and Fury retires leaving Wilder to fight Ruiz for the WBC

 

Just make the two best fighters in the division fight each other please. Usyk is a decent fight but hardly deserving enough to impede complete unification (have him fight Joyce for an interim). I have zero interest in the Wilder fight

 

The fact that we won’t get to see a unified champion is what’s to not like.

 

One potentially exciting fight in Fury vs AJ vs a semi interesting fight with AJ vs Usyk and boring fight in Fury vs Wilder. I would have rather had Fury vs AJ.

Most see it 2 -0 Fury and the last being a complete ass kicking , don't think there is that much interest in Wilder Fury III as people make it out to be.

Wilder - Fury just has no appeal to me. Fury was coming off his sofa the first fight and it was 3 years ago. 3 years for Wilder to get slower and 3 years for Fury to find his feet properly again which he already done by the 2nd fight.

If you’re going on about boring fights, I really don’t see AJ - Usyk setting many fireworks alight. AJ won’t be taking any risks and Usyk doesn’t have the size/power to impose himself against somebody that big.

 

Two better fights?

You can argue Joshua vs. Usyk is better than Joshua vs. Fury, sure, but Fury vs. Wilder II? Nobody that has seen them fight twice has any desire to see it again, except maybe delusional Bomb Squadders thinking third time's the charm (it isn't, Gyppo Rex just has his number)

 

Fury-Joshua without question for me. We’ve seen Fury beat Wilder twice, there’s no need for a third right now.
