Well then maybe he should have stayed active and defended the belt more. He only defended 3 times and is only in his early 30's. If he's this legendary out of this world fighter then he should have PROVED it more and more to cement his legacy. If he or his fans think he is above these current lightweights then go up to 170 lbs and try and beat the elite guys there. Why hasn't he ? I think he is a very very good lightweight fighter but needs to do way more to be talked about as the goat of mma. Everyone eventually loses and Khabib would also if he continued to defend against the no.1 contender again and again and again.

Everyone loses after defending against the NO.1 contender over and over? What are you talking about? You only lose cause the guy in the cage with you is better than you, if Khabib lost then it would mean he wasn`t as good as he semed or some super fighter had come along or he was old and past it, according to you no champ is better than everyone in his division and sometimes they win and sometimes lose for no reason at all, sounds like WWE bull to me, Khabib was awesome, if you can`t see that then you weren`t paying attention and don`t understand combat sports fundamentals.

If Khabib continued to fight and defend for another 2,3,4 years fighting twice a year he would lose like everyone in all combat sports eventually loses. Anything can happen in a fight such as Serra clipping GSP, no one is indestructible not even Khabib. I noticed you can't defend Khabib's refusal to test himself at 170 lb.Imo Khabib is an awesome lightweight fighter but should have done a lot more to cement his legacy.

Khabib has done no more than Usman has done at 170 lbs. I would love to see Khabib move up and fight Usman, that would be a super fight with two dominant champions. The difference is that Usman is continuing to defend and Khabib isn't. Khabib says to Dana that no one else at 155 is a challenge so go out and seek a challenge go up to 170 but no he just wanted to drain a legend in GSP down to 155. Weak

Why do you need to keep defending the title and taking blows? He`ll be 34 in a few years why ruin his legacy, each fighter or number no.1 contender isn`t always worth fighting quality goes up and down, what`s the point in just doing the same thing over and over until you get beat, I don`t get it, quit while you`re ahead.

    Agreed. Khabib is overrated, IMHO.

He's got a ton of wins, but they're mostly poor.

GSP's resume is Miles better when talking about the GOAT etc.

I think Charlie Olives beats Khabib. He's too well rounded, and his submission game is incredibly well rounded.

    Spot on.

The horrendous cuts Khabib had to get to 155, combined with wanting GSP at 155 (which was pathetic) shows he didn't dare to be great.

I think Khabib would beat Oliviera myself. I think he would manhandle Oliviera and be good enough on the ground on top to not get subbed but you never know.

I think Khabib is a great 155 lb fighter but as you mentioned his record 29-0 contains at least 15 fighter who were complete nobodies who don't even have a wiki page. His top level wins are RDA, Conor, Gaethje and Poirier. I realise anyone can pick apart every fighters resume though.Talks of him possibly being the GOAT of all of mma are completely ridiculous. He did nowhere near enough to be in that conversation. Also imo and many others he has already lost to Tibau in the UFC many years ago. I think Khabib would have all sorts of trouble up at 170 against fighters like Colby/Usman who are great wrestlers with good volume on the feet and excellent gastanks.

I see your point, but Olives is dangerous in all positions, and Khabib could run into something.

I agree about 170. I'd favour many over him at that weight.

All the large weight cutters like Khabib just give them an advantage over the guys who are naturally closer to 155 .

I'd like to see a MMA fight league where the fighters weights are monitored a month before a fight and then weekly right up to fight night so they are really fighting at their natural fighting weight .

Khabib must walk into the ring weighing in the 173 lb fight range .
