see, now that is Boxing, great underappreciated forgotten fighters. a man worthy of both the memory and applauded accolades and credentials. a worthy champion & contender and probably fit for any S-MW in History. lots to take serious too, from these honest interviews and reflections, L-HWs that were really HWs - 200 lb men fighting Down, he was too small for, how many times does that happen in Boxing. In the past Sutherland, would have been a MW cum L-HW, Saad & Spinks would have been HWs, such was their Stature. all these weights need to go, get fighters back to fighting at near their natural weight and with a S-HW Division. But a Great piece and story... Thanks to ALL the Murray Sutherlands of the Sport
That's a tremendous counterpoint....for years I've argued no one ever outboxed Tommy....(that the stoppage losses were just that) bit now it occurs to me.....barkley beat Tommy on points (whatever the method and means).....granted it was as close as a fight can get...but fair is fair
I`m talking about Hearns at 147-154 and he was out-pointed Barkley at 160 before getting caught, his rematch with Barkley was a few years later and his body lacked it`s old definition.
So you saying Hearns is better at 147-154 than Spinks? Yeah I have to agree but even Stevie Wonder could see that Spinks is far better than Hearns at 175-200.
