They were the overwhelming boxers of their era.
What would they look like if they fought in the middle, SM now?
Even after a long time. Do you think they stand a chance against Canelo?

No, Canelo would have beaten all three, Jones was only great in terms of having great athleticism, he didn`t have the fundamentals to dominate now, the game is improving everyday, the 90`s were a dip in talent compared to the 80`s.

RJJ in his heyday would have dominated most eras at MW and SMW, including this one.
Toney and Hopkins would be the 2 major players if they fought in this era.

I mean, Canelo has a lot of Toneys style, but he's just not as good as Toney was at his best.
Canelo seems to be more consistent though.

Hopkins would struggle with the new breed of southpaw slicksters.

Toney would do very well but would end up getting in a war with GGG that would snatch his prime.

RJJ would not be touched. Someone like Canelo has a good style to nullify him, but he'd be too slow for a prime RJJ.

RJJ was such a freak of an athlete. His quickness and reflexes in his prime give anyone trouble.

As we saw, once his reflexes faded a bit he was vulnerable as his fundamentals were a bit suspect.

In general, athletes learn from previous eras and improve in some way on those that come before them.

Doesn't mean the previous generations weren't tough or skilled but that humans learn from those that came before.

Plus, the drugs are probably better nowadays.

Canelo is literally smashing faces and exploding people's biceps while moving up in weight.

Canelo (and GGG a few years back) aside, they would dominate with one hand behind their back.

Do you actually remember RJJ and Toney in their primes?

Canelo is very good, excellent actually, but RJJ and Toney are their bests... different level.
