That's an extremely biased american view of mexicans. The northern part of mexico is heavily european (spanish, french, italian). Most of the mexican immigrants that come to the USA are from the southern part of mexico. Mexico like the USA is a diverse country. No need to be ignorant.

I’ll give you Japanese but lots of people know there black Brazilians and think of them. First Brazilian I think of is Anderson Silva or Pele, City of God (great movie) has Afro Brazilians, and they’re represented in games too like Eddy from Tekken. I’d say an average person has a good chance to think of a black Brazilian both in terms of famous people and randos as a non American would think of a black person if you ask them to describe an American.
