The men he fought were labourers , sailors and farmers who couldn't box a lick.

Men from that era fought in diapers and possessed none of the skills and ring IQ that eventually developed in the sport over time.

You never even seen this man box so you are simply indulging yourself in fantasy , not reality.

No, boxers from that era were professionals. Figthers like Gans, Flowers, Wills, Jeannette, Norfolk, O'Brien and many others were skilled fighters.
We have prime Langford fights footage, what are you talking about?

oh man another idiot , Langfords style is very very subtle what doesnt look like skills is very scary high level skills. There is a reason he beat prominent all time greats in every division he fought and was knocking out heavies as a smaller guy.

Impossible to say, due to the vast changes in fight conditions, technique, and tactics.

He would do very well if he stayed in the right division. He had things you couldn't teach a fighter in a hundred years.

Insane power, fighting spirit, timing, finishing instincts and fearlessness for starters.

What would you say to someone who says boxing has evolved far past that time period?

I would say the parts that have evolved can largely be learned, that it is still a game of hit and don't be hit and there are only so many variations to accomplishing those ends. No matter how evolved one's technique in the ring, one is still going to be hit and hit hard, and one is still going to have to win by hitting an opponent who is trying very hard not to be hit.

Punching power never goes out of style. Langford knew how to find the chin. Also give the man a level playing field? Equal opportunities? He would be a champion

Elite chin plus elite power plus elite heart a fighter makes. The rest can be taught to one degree or another.
