Is there any chance of Premier/Boxnation picking this up last minute or even channel 5 as they have the Eggington fight for a bit of promotion prime time Saturday, otherwise I’ll just buy it, this fight is better than any of the garbage Sky have had as ppv over the last year.
I haven’t seen enough of Ramirez, the guru is in grave danger of turning into a casual. Taylor has always massively impressed me from the first 30 seconds I seen him, he’s some talent, can somebody educate me on Ramirez?
Sign of the times that this thread gets 4 pages while the farcical cash grab debacle involving the heavies gets 14 pages. Josh Taylor is one of the best British boxers of the last 30 years but he repeatedly slides under the radar because he's not one of Eddie's golden boys who can reel in the mugs.
When you're in a weight division that is less than what most people's grannies and girlfriends weigh, you need to have a bit of charisma. He has none. He is a convicted racist scrote with a high pitched voice. People want to see the big boys, because ultimately Josh Taylor would get sparked by a heavyweight journeyman.
Ricky Hatton, Naseem Hamed, Barry McGuigan were smaller than Josh and it didn't hurt their popularity did it ?? Benn, Eubank, Calzaghe and Froch weren't exactly giants either. And your last point is one of the most ludicrous pieces of nonsense I've read on this forum
@Gatekeeper said thread...we're on a boxing forum. Most, if not all of us, are interested in more than just the heavyweight division.
Did you deliberately miss out the part where I said that under such conditions "you need to have a bit of charisma. He has none"? Benn, Eubank, Calzaghe and Froch are men who are 2 stone heavier than Taylor. Not your strongest argument, I'd imagine. They are at least normal sized men. There is a reason the strawweights and flyweights are hardly spoken about, despite being divisions with plenty of talent and skill. Taylor is a very good boxer, but I'm responding to your initial point with the facts, and you don't seem to like it. I won't lose any sleep over it, bud. Strawman fallacy.
Anybody watching the live press conference?..old Bob looks like he's popped a couple of damagers..followed by a dose of diazepam.
