The only my mental illness I acknowledge are ******s and schizophrenia.

everything else is an excuse. everyone has had depression, stress, anxiety and many, panic attacks.

In the old days, they just say **** like “get over it”. Nowadays it’s a buzzword and “brave” to speak out on this.

None of that matters to me. I like to watch Tank fight. So far I've rooted for him every fight. But he's letting his prime pass him by. I guess I'll take your word for it in this case out of sheer apathy, but you can't tell me that Tank is trying to fight other elite fighters. He's as guilty as every other young/youngish potential ATG of ducking risk/hard work.

Yeah, completely agree about the obsession about not having an L on your record.

How does boxing fix that culture though where it's okay to have an L so that the tough fights that fans want to see are made?

Youd have to incentivize the fighters somehow to make that happen with even more money.

Barrios is a tough fight not necessarily one that his promoters or management would have been looking for at 140 pounds. Barrios is an undefeated world champion who can fight and has a high knockout percentage. It’s a very risky fight. The world champions at 135 already had defences scheduled. Ryan Garcia bottled out of the fight. You might mention Loma but right now he brings nothing to the table not even a world title.

No. Just no. Excuses and dissimulation. Barrios who? His "very high" KO percentage is 65 per boxrec. Against nobody I've ever heard of. So you're just going with hyperbole. Why am I surprised? Teofimo, Tank, Loma, Ryan, Devin, Mikey. Those are six guys that should be mixing it up, but we've only had one fight. It's bull**** and they all suck.

I have seen Barrios fight so this is a risky fight.

    This kid is mental midget.

You know Alexis Arguello was going in that ring with some dark cloud over his head probably 100% of the time. He still did his job and stoned people.

How many future fights get cancelled due to mental issues? This isn't a sport for the soft minded.

the best way I can think of as a fan is to ONLY support / buy the PPV bouts that are actually tough fights.

& refuse to purchase / boycott any other fight.

but other then that - we are left to the mercy of the promoters handling their careers.

Dude...65% = "very high"? You just make **** up. Describe what you saw that poses a risk to Tank. Which fights of Barrios have you seen? Just one. Post it. I'll watch it. Maybe I'll see your point?

Tyson Fury would highly disagree with you folks downplaying or doubting it. The dude used to literally talk about wanting to kill himself every few days after bailing on the Klitschko rematch for the second time and that lasted quite a while. Always talks about mental health. So good to see you Macho Men think Furys a ridiculous attention ***** diva softie.

Way to fold. Gave you a chance to back up your assertions and even bring me aboard and you bail.

I don’t need to prove anything to you. I am not trying to bring you aboard. You are a Tank hater pure and simple probably because you are a Mayweather hater. Do the work I am not here for your sake.

Spoken exactly like someone who hasn't gone through demons in their time. Which is fine, and I'm happy for you.
One day it may well hit you, you won't know it at the time but when the realization hits you will find yourself in a pretty lonely place.

As someone who lost a friend and a father of 3, I can honestly say **** you dude.

Given you joined in 05 i'll assume that you're an old head in the age bracket of 40-55, which is understandable. You grew up in the generation of hardheads, but that doesn't excuse ignorance. Work with those in a bad place and you will soon regret that statement.

Failing that - do some research. Look into what happens to a 'normal' person after an amount of time in solitary confinement. The brain acts in the same way when you suppress depression. Depression and insanity are very closely related.
