In Totally agree, but let’s not be too harsh, the poor chap obviously doesn’t realise that that is the reason for weight classes!
Josh Taylor is hardly a small guy, walk about any town and the average guy is around that size give or take, big deal if he's a bit skinny, he trains his ass off as a boxer, he's not a bodybuilder or a pie eater lol.
God bless josh taylor, after recent events british boxing seems to be becoming more of a soap opera than a sport but in taylor we have a TRUE fighting man a true champion a genuine p4p fighter and saturday he becomes the undisputed champion...... Enjoy the career of taylor while it lasts he is without doubt the best fighter in the Britain atm and will be for a long time!!!
I don’t understand how these fighters who are/were with BT/Queensbury / Top Rank aren’t getting their fights on UK TV. Frampton was the same. If Josh Taylor was with Hearn / Matchroom he would be one of the biggest names in the game. He’s a unified world champion - against top opponents too, not picking up vacant titles against nobodies, he’s absolutely brilliant, he’s a bit of a **** like but personally also helps to promote but we just don’t see anything of it.
Jose Ramirez seems very hittable in the videos I have seen, so unless he can hurt Josh, I think Taylor can hit him often enough to possibly force a stoppage or win a wide points decision. The only doubt I have is his preparation, Taylor has been sparring relative unknowns and Chris Kongo, whereas Ramirez will be sparring the likes of Vergil Ortiz and Mikey Garcia. It's pretty poor that this fight is getting little or no coverage on the traditional media platforms, but I guess that is a sign of the times and the power of big platforms like Sky and Social Media. I think Ebanie Bridges received more press than Josh Taylor and deservedly so judging by his recent outburst on twitter. I can't believe he wrote that post, he confronted the guy in person and dealt with him, yet now he's allowed himself to get distracted on the eve of the biggest fight of his career and made to look like a bully and an adolescent teenager. Fights of this nature are often won and lost by very small margins.
He would have to be an afro carribean kid from the big LDN, who could sit with Tebbut and talk about his street days for Hearn to take an interest though.
Plenty of white fighters in Matchroom's stable. I would imagine that Matchroom did try to sign him and he turned them down. Hearn had Burns afterall, why wouldn't he want Taylor? World class, Scottish so he can be heading cards up north and give Matchroom regional presence
Bollocks, if he was with Eddie he would be fighting Lewis Ritson tomorrow in a fight that 'has plenty of needle' then use Taylor to build a Connor Benn PPV. Taylor has aligned himself with a promoter who can get him the fights he wants now and no messing about.
