I really don't understand some of you who are so confident in Usyk...

Fair enough, but I suppose my point is that he hasn't really done anything else since 2018 thought to evidence he's still at the level he was.

That's my primary concern. What has he done to suggest he's still the level he's at? Or that he's at a level that would really threaten Joshua?

I know his style is not good for Joshua, but style and form are two different things.

So you think that means he would actually beat both of them in their primes if they met for real in the ring?

99 percent of these people on these forums have no clue to what they are talking about. They are naive or just biased. Usyk beat Chisora a guy who loses all the time and Usyk beat a washed up Chazz Witherspoon a guy who was never good to began with. But apparently this makes Usyk a great heavyweight. I seen people stated Usyk would be Lennox Lewis, George Foreman, Ali, ect.

That being said we do know Tyson Fury struggled with Steve Cunnigham a cruiser weight who couldn't punch for cruiser weight standards. Logic would state that Usyk could do the same thing.

If Joshua can't land on fossil Pulev

then he has no chance against someone as slick as Usyk...

You normally are thinking that A.J is something expectional? He isn't, he started to gas even vs 39 y.o Pulev.
While yeah, he does have credit for beating up over the hill uncles in Povetkin, out of retirement Wlad 41 y.o and even beating Takam in less impressive fashion than not only 1 Takam opponent had delivered vs Takam.
Really cool performance, A.J was not capable to finish nor Ruiz Jr nor Parker.
    World beater appeared here.

Ohh, your A.J had struggled even vs over the hill Pulev, out of retirement Wlad and over the hill Povetkin.
What a cool for surnames his resume is. LoL.
Dude even beated up Takam not that impressively as his fans are yelling.

Ok, if sparring stories, the same Briedis never had been down vs Vitali and Wlad.
Depends ofc how they had took these sparrings, Usyk for sure isn't clinch fighting expert at all even for CW.

Usyk for sure had exp with very good boxers even in am ranks, some from them I think were better than Briedis and Gassiev if about boxing skills and even better than Beterbiev too.
If Usyk had clinch fight in reality vs Briedis or Gassiev, he had been dispatched with ease. Even the same Briedis had just pushed and rotated him and Usyk had fall down without even proper clinch or punch.
Imagine Usyk in clinch vs Fury or Ruiz Jr? Really?

Usyk for sure is very good and talented boxer with courage but also most likely over the hill after fights vs Briedis and Gassiev.
However nope, his achievements are I think seriously undervalued and his skills too.

Well he has done something, he has beaten Chisora.

Ruiz Jr before he fought AJ had lost to Parker.. then beat Devin Vargas, then beat old Kevin Johnson who was coming off a KO loss to Milan on Points and then Dimitrenko.

That was hardly a list of names that would suggest he would beat AJ, it wasn't form to suggest he would even make it competitive.

I understand what you're saying to point, but Usyk has pedigree, he is undoubtedly talented, he is proven at CW and yeah sure.. ideally we would have seen him fight a couple more times at Heavyweight.

I just think people are looking for reasons to dismiss him instead of looking at what he should/could bring.

Anything is possible, AJ could come out and steamroll him, who knows but if AJ wins then he will deserve a lot of credit because the people writing off Usyk now can't turn around if AJ beats him and say "what a great win".

+ in my opinion Chisora has been in his prime for the last 2-3 years. He really stepped up his training and found that inner motivation he lacked earlier in his career

Usyk was a brilliant CW and a quality fighter.

However up at HW, I've not been impressed. I think he is tricky enough in the early rounds but afterwards doesn't really give AJ much problems.

You for sure do not have a clue and need to learn something, if according to your posts, you never had even sparred boxing seriously. I'm not joking.

You are so sure? Chisora is not that bad as ppl in forums are thinking. Ofc not champ and still he is not bad even for modern HW era while Chisora is boxer from KLITS era, he had boxed vs Vitali and Haye.
What there had so much changed and really is he such bad for modern standards?

U at first really compare Ali footwork from 60 ies vs 70 ies alone and then start to bring up this sentimental noise.
For sure Ali from 60 ies had better legs than prime Usyk ( prime Usyk as am superstar not current version ).

You really do not know what you are talking about.
Ofc Cunnigham wasn't God but he punched pretty well for his size and weight.
If he had lost vs some good fighters who were in excellent shape, this doesn't means that he was bad or with weak punch.

Normal power for CW boxer for sure, most likely 1 punch power higher than for Usyk's punch.
Not sure that he might beat so hard as prime injury free Gassiev or Briedis versions and still, I think prime Cunningham had enough power for modern top 10 CW division.

There's something slightly annoying about your posting style, I can't put my finger on what it is.

In answer to your threat title - the reason there is different opinions is because it's a forum and that's what they're for. It would be boring if we all felt the same things.

I don’t see many people hyping Usyk at HW. He’s a talented fighter and deserves a shot at the belts. Will he win? Who really knows. He hasn’t looked dominant at HW but he wins fights. AJ isn’t Ali or some world beater. He beat an ancient version of Wlad and got his belt back from fat Andy. I’d like to see him fight Usyk. It wouldn’t surprise me to see Usyk beat him. Also, it wouldn’t surprise me to see Joshua win. That’s what makes it an interesting matchup. Fury has looked bad against southpaws and mobile fighters. Usyk is both. I’d favor Fury but it would be fun to watch and Usyk would win rounds and have a legit chance of winning the fight. Hope we get to see it.

100% I think Usyk gives Wilder fits.. Convulsive ones on the floor.

People act like Usyk doesn't have power, yet did anyone see iron jawed Chisora get tagged in the seventh and looked like his brain was about to get fried.

Chisora was a very tough style match up for Usyk, who people seem to be forgetting was one year out of the ring and had onyl completed 6 rounds over two years ago against fricking Witherspoon. Not really fair confidently assessing his ability at HW when given the clear context.

Usyk handled Gassiev with absolute ease, a Gassiev some HWs have described as being extremely hard punching and the hardest puncher they've been in with. Granted with Wilder he has the reach and its the straights Usyk will have to worry about. But i have complete faith Usyk will be able to avoid the only punch coming at him. Usyk is extremely intelligent and his footwork and head movement is light years ahead of Spzilka who survived what was it 7 or 9 rounds. Usyk will TKO Wilder but that will never happen because Wilders team would never let it.

Usyk gives AJ problems.. I'm just unsure if Usyk can get past AJs size, reach, power. AJ is also by no means a stupid boxer (cough wilder).

Exactly. Usyk fans are becoming worse than Wilder & Fury fans. The guy's a fantastic fighter, but they're rating him based on what he's done at CW. He's done nothing at HW except look lackluster against two C level fighters (Chisora being the better).
