I can tell Manny thinks Spence is much easier to overcome compared to Bud's style.

This is nuts, Pac would make 90%+ of the same money fighting the #50 WW. He might make more with the right YouTube/MMA guy and would make multiples if he could lure a shot old rival like JMM, Bradley, etc out of retirement.

If this would disappoint you, I think you have a high chance of disappointment. I'm just hoping he leaves on his own two feet, anything else is a bonus.

Douglas had all the tools, big tough guy with punching power, it's just no one had seen him us them effectively enough.

We're just so used to watching Manny fly around in an airplane made out of popsicle sticks and rubber bands we forget how unlikely any of this is.

Winning doesn't make him a top 5 ATG, but it would rank around there for best single fight achievement.

Lol. Even if he loses a competitive fight, it would be a moral victory because Spence has all the advantages. Pac has some serious conjones for taking this fight.

I agree that Spence is easier than Crawford. But your statement is inconsistent.

 

Looks can be deceiving

 

Danny Garcia and Shawn Porter (who won) and Mikey F'n Garcia didn't take beatings...no way in hell Pacman does.

And yes, Spence is absolutely basic. He doesn't have elite (or close to elite) athleticism and he has no flair to his skills (unlike other non athletic power punchers like Alex Arguello). Basic isn't necessarily bad....but it's still basic.

Spence has lost his killer instinct. That was clear in the Mikey Garcia fight.

Pac may not win, but this is less physical than the Jeff Horn fight.

 

I'll be rooting for Pac, but the only way Spence loses this is if he tries to walk him down in the early going. If he boxes sensibly behind the jab & works the body consistently until Pacman wears down (which was exactly his strategy vs. Porter and DSG) I don't think a 42-year old Pac can do much to hurt him.

Spence won't try to murder him like Bud would have though.

 

Spence said he wanted to show people he could box in the post fight interview, which he did show against Mikey he outboxed him. I remember people saying after the fight shocked at his boxing ability. With that said Spence is no killer like Crawford but he can be vicious if need be. Pac will do good early but unlike thurman who's chinny and retreats Spence doesn't do that. If pac comes at him he will respond. Pac's stamina is suspect much like hopkins when he got older he will slow down in the mid rounds and that is where Spence will assert his dominance. Thurman was coming on and lighting pac up until he ate a mean body shot which almost stopped him. Spence is more complete than thurman more durable as noted by his car wreck and punches harder and is built for a war of attrition. I'm not saying he will wipe pac out he's too good for that but he will give him a good beating while boxing his socks off at times to. If big guys like horn and margo made pac uncomfortable Spence will too.

 

I saw this news, and bought a plane ticket within 20 minutes. Can't WAIT for this one.

 

Spence is smart & patient and sees the long game... That and the size advantage is why I think Spence is much harder for Pac than Crawford. Crawford runs off emotions, so he takes risks and feels obligated to **** his opponents up, which is why I like him... But that's why he could easily understimate and get dropped vs. someone like Pacquiao who still has that one punch power. Spence will just wait him out, wear him down and take the easy decision.

 

I meant it made him an ATG not the best ever. It certainly puts him wayy ahead of Floyd who is in the circus tent beating on Teenage Japanese kick boxers &celebrities while Pac ic fighting the best in the world
