No he won't get knocked out late. He wins a brawl with Louis any day. Holyfield had a far superior chin.
I think this is a great match up, I'm split on just stating clearly who wins it, Holy is strong & powerful, but Louis has met fighters like him before... My instincts tell me Louis out boxes him, finds the distance and stays clear enough to counter steadily throughout the whole fight, going the distance to a points decision. a late round stoppage for Louis is possibly too, and likewise Holy could out muscle Louis and just grind out a win. a good Big Fight I'd say, but I'd bet Louis more often than not for his Boxing Brain, Skill, Subtle Movement and he's a physically strong man himself. this a great Worldwide PayPer View Event.
This would be a great fight to watch. I'd make Louis a very slight favorite, around 55-45. All spectators would be winners
'like' him... don't try and start some of that foolish nonsense that some bully boy, know it all's, used to try and do () to people on here. Louis had 70 fights, trained and sparred with the best of them in the US and abroad. had 25 defences and is 'arguably' the greatest HW who ever lived. to suggest he never danced with Big STRONG Fighters is utter **** e, sure many of them mightn't have beat Holyfield, but to think these Top Contender Athlete's weren't Capable Big Strong men is ridiculous. Joe Louis, is not meeting an 'unbeatable' rarity in Holyfield and you'll also note, I also stated Holy might 'out muscle' Louis and grind his way to a win. I'm not one of these, achievements alone, compu box, living colour and over spewed media hype B.S nonsense type of Boxing Fans. TOP Athletes are just that, Top, and in 'most' cases earned and/or deservingly. JJW for one would be another great match for Holyfield then choose at least another half a dozen Top Louis Opponents to put up a good fight with & against Holy. have that kind of conversation with some other poster, I can't entertain such one sided, like 'there was nobody else' type of scenario.
Dude, chill ! I just said if Louis fought a guy who has a similar style to Holy! Not tryin to claim that none of Louis opponent were as good or as strong as Holy.
Louis by ko 12. Bitterly fought contest with Holyfield at times looking like he's going to stop Joe. A slow start from Joe sees him on the floor early and hurt several times thru the fight. But the tide turns for Joe as his Jab and harder shots start to have an effect on Holy. Holyfield brave to the end has to pick himself up, taking some of Louis s devastating punches. But game over.
No, I don't think he can beat any great modern ATGs. Liston, Holmes, Ali, Foreman, Tyson, Bowe, Lewis, Holyfield - I pick all of them to beat him.
Most of these men had trouble with and some lost to fighters lesser than Louis. The idea that it's completely unreasonable for him to be competitive with them strikes me as silly. In a Louis-Holyfield fight, I lean towards Louis by decision, but it could go either way. Getting into a firefight with Louis is dangerous for any fighter though.
Louis had just as good of chin as Holyfield, same heart, recovery powers. The difference being The Brown Bomber had wrecking balls in his gloves. Either hand fight ending power and he put them together. Joe was the smarter Ring Technician as well. I think Holyfield could give anyone a rough nite but this match doesn't look good .
