I don't like the way Taylor fought in rounds 10 through 12

These are the championship rounds. He almost gave the fight away through inactivity those 3 rounds and that's something champions don't do; you try to finish looking good. Ramirez certainly won round 12, and by running around Taylor almost FORCED the judges (handpicked by Arum) to give Ramirez the last three rounds.

I had the fight scored 7 rounds to 5 for Taylor and of course there were two knockdowns so I'm not saying Ramirez won or that the 114-112 cards were sensible, just that Taylor could have closed out the show against a weakened opponent but instead let him back into the fight. That would have really been a feather in his cap.

It's not the manner in which a top 5 boxer conducts himself. And if he performs that way against a bigger and better boxer in Crawford he's going to get Bolivianized.

If you watch the post fight interview, Taylor's left hand was pretty badly swollen, maybe even broken, I think that's why his output dropped in those last rounds. He also probably felt that as he had won at least 6 of the rounds with 2 knockdowns that all he had to do was not get knocked down or KO'd himself.

Considering the hand I felt he fought fairly smart in the last few rounds.

But at the time I was shouting at him to up his workrate!!! So totally get the point :)

Compubox says he landed 11 more punches, and the cards minus the knockdowns reflect that. They pretty much saved him.

I thought it was 8 and 9 where he needed more gas, Ramirez was still ready to go.

By 10 it looked like Ramirez was getting a little mental clarity and some steam back on his punches so I think playing it safe was a good call.

    It was smart boxing.

If you score 2 knockdowns, your opponent virtually has to win all of the remaining rounds.

Not in Vegas. Without the 2 knockdown it was a draw at best. Had either rnd gone for Ramirez it would have been a lost.

Never coast or take a rnd of while fighting in the opponent's fan backyard.

Looks like the left hand may have had something to do with it.
