I don't like the way Taylor fought in rounds 10 through 12

Ugas is maybe not top name at 147, but I think that speaks volumes

Taylor more than held his own with Porter in the gym when he was just a 7 fight novice too

A punter on a boxing forum telling an undisputed and unbeaten 4 belt World Champion how a Champion should fight in the last 3 rounds of a fight.

You have to love the Internet.

Those last 3rds looked like Ben Davidson **** influence as a coach tbh. Instead of putting Ramirez away for good.

He coasted too much looking for single shots. Ben Davidson is toxic and a **** coach. Wish
Taylor stayed away from that clown.

No wonder Tyson dropped his fake shill ass

I agree and I dont agree with you.

I agree because my heart tells me you are right.

I dont agree because my brain tells me you are not right.

Whenever I am in this situation I pick my brain. It always gave me better results.

I didnt watch the fight because I got asleep, but there is always a right choice, choice wisely. I can't say if that was the right one in this fight, but "choice wisely" is always a better advise than "choice always this". (yes I realized what I did :S )

I don't know much about Davidson but I do think JT gave away more rounds than he needed to.

JT was very effective when he used movement. Ramirez had no answer for that.

JT was setting that trap all night and it worked but it was closer than it needed to be.

Should have upped the ante i can agree with, but firstly could he, was he carrying a injury in last few rounds that limited him doing so, did he and his team take gamble he was winning so fought safe and in cruise control, as only way Ramirez could 'honestly' win was by drawing Taylor into a slugfest.

I shall add Bolivianized to my vocabulary, a fine word indeed, thank you.

If your allegation is true, and I'm not suggesting it is, that would be an extraordinary achievement considering the amount of thinly concealed racial animus that permeates an unfortunate number of posts on ESB.

As for Taylor's approach in the final few rounds, I think it's fairly obvious that he believed--mistakenly as it turns out--that he was comfortably ahead on the cards. Had he considered the outcome in doubt, it is conceivable that he may have really pressed his advantage after the second knockdown and stopped Ramirez.

His injured hand may have contributed to his conservative approach in the final rounds as well.

The judges score cards reflect this. Out of 12 rounds Ramirez had atleast 1 judge say he won the round on 8 occasions. Taylor had 9 occasions where atleast one judge gave him the round. With 4 clear Taylor rounds and 3 clear Ramirez rounds it leaves alot of room for various scores. I don't think Ramirez winning 6 rounds is that crazy. I agree with the poster here.

It wasn’t de la Hoya vs Trinidad level but it was definitely some coasting.

i didn’t expect it from him, but it was definitely the right decision on his part.

That root of that word can be attributed to Mike Tyson, who once said about an opponent "I'll punch him into Bolivian " when he meant "oblivion " but I think it's an urban legend; can't find a video anywhere with him saying it.

If Taylor had a wrist/hand injury then I can understand why he stepped off the gas pedal. But I stand by my main point: in another boxer's (virtual) home town, and especially in Vegas with the judges AND the referee handpicked by a promoter, you can't assume you are up on the scorecards even with two knockdowns.
