He likely means he came down from 226 for the Duran fight.

He was that much when he signed.

That's when it helps to actually listen to what the guy is saying and follow up with "Do you mean ... " instead of just typing what he says and moving on.

Correct Dubblechin. I've no doubt he was walking around 200+ lbs when he signed for Duran. I'd have a guess he was somewhere around the 170-175lbs mark on the night against Duran.

Yeah, but he said he'd come down from 235-240 and eat like a horse to put in all back on after the weigh in, and was 226.
The way he said it suggests he weighed 226 after eating non-stop after the weigh in.

But the sheer impossibility of it, yeah.

    He was big.
But he actually weighed in at 153 for the Kalambay WBA title fight in 1987, which is even more incredible. He attributed that to having inaccurate scales in his room.
153 is, of course, "junior middleweight".

Before the weigh in rules where changed he was still coming in as a MW. However 153lbs seems almost impossible for someone as big as Iran it must have been painful.

I will assume you meant that good-naturedly, ha!
But that was a calculation that led to the factual statement, & it did not take much time.

If you have time for Bsing on the computer, television, drinking, recreational videos...
But I do happen to have much time these daaaze! :)

    153 seems astonishing.
I guess it has a lot to do with what sized noggin one has. I always thought the blade had that spidery, crane like build at middleweight albeit with a bigger than usual sized head for the rest of him. Where as Hearns was skinny and had a smaller sized head. When Hearns filled out He had a head too small for the rest of him.

An excuse for the defeat maybe? Had to lose so much weight and all?
