Johnson too far away? What are you talking about? Johnson is 3 inches shorter with a shorter reach and preferred fighting at close range to smother and tire his opponents out with clinching and inside fighting. Foreman planted his feet firmly at mid range and didn't allow people to crowd him and if they tried to move away to long range he cut the ring off on a seek and destroy mission.

You keep acting like Johnson is going to be on the outside flicking jabs and dodging everything Foreman throws. That isn't how Johnson fought.

If Johnson jabs at the same time as Foreman he is going to get his face clobbered. Foreman has the reach advantage and the much more powerful jab. Plus, he was very good at parrying jabs with the rear hand, walking guys into shots and towards the ropes, that's the whole point of the mummy stance:

watch the willard and johnson fight where everytime willard jabs johnson backs too far away for either guy to continue throwing then johnson comes back wins the battle of the intiative through feints and gets in and gets his hits. He wont stand at midrange and dodge shots but he backs out of there and resets the range . What you are saying bout Foreman is not true at all. In that same fight Foreman was going jab or jab or eating jabs double digit amount of times . He would pre emptively put up a mummy guard to discourage a punch(johnson did this too) b ut when he didnt do that he ate jabs like christmas candy. I can go through that video and count every time he jabbed with that rear hand down and or ate jabs , I am willing to bet its more jabs than johnson took in any of his fights .

Willard was a lumbering oaf who pawed his punches and barely had any snap. He weighed like 250+. You're really using that fight as evidence Johnson can zip in and out against Foreman when Ali decided it would be better to lay on the ropes and counter instead of trying to use his legs?

Johnson was very flat footed and had both hands down. We have the footage:

According to Fat Luke Carney who worked Frank Morans corner, Luke claimed to his dying day he had never seen a heavyweight quite like Jack Johnson. Luke stated that Johnson would stand directly in front of Moran taunting him.

Please stop trying to spin this narrative that Johnson is going to be dancing in and out like Hector Camacho. That isn't how he fought, we have eyes.

As for Foreman eating jabs, as I said, if Johnson jabbed at the same time as Foreman he would be getting badly hurt and would open himself up for Foreman's follow up right hand. You do realize that, right? If you continuously let an opponent jab at you and trade, you are both giving them confidence and letting them know you're in range for a power shot. Foreman has the better chin and hits way harder, if Johnson stood in front of him flat footed, taunting, and trading jabs he would get stopped within 4 rounds tops.

And the idea of him squeezing Foreman's biceps and outworking him in the clinch is comedy. That might work on 180 pound guys but not on a 220+ HW who hits like a truck. The only way that would ever happen is if Foreman was out of shape or completely gassed and by some miracle hasn't landed anything serious on Johnson for multiple rounds.

Well 35 year old Jeff was neither prime, nor did he hit like a truck, and had more ring rust than a 90 year old woman's wedding ring so I have no idea why you brought that up as if it's relevant to Johnson vs Foreman.

Are you serious or trolling. I think Jefferies and the Rock get smashed, maybe Louis as well. I'd give Liston a chance though. What advantages does the Rock have over Frazier in your opinion?: The only advantage I give the Rock is better "2" fisted power.....but that wouldn't even matter.

How on earth is this Max Baer level?
    Have you seen Baer fight?
He got no abilities of Foreman or whatsover.

I believe Frazier would be more likely to beat Marciano.
But besides 2 fisted power, he had more variety of punches.
    Possibly a slightly better chin.
Due to more economy of movement, even better endurance, although both were excellent there.
    Frazier swelled, Marciano cut.

But I believe hand speed & accuracy would be the difference.

Finish that whole quote dude when Moran tried to go after johnson, Jack caught all his blows on his forearms push his shoulder and slash him with punches , Fat Luke said he never seen Morans face cut up so bad .You know damn well he didnt stand in front and box he stood in front and taunted him he didnt fight like that ,he was toying with him and still dominated the fight

jack johnson leapt in with a jab or jab cross that scored tied up ,he would get some punches off in the clinch push and begin this all over again and he wasnt really hit when you went after him either, the most you see landing on PRIME jack(moran fight was past prime mind you) was arm punches to his midsection that he allowed. Again Jeffries may have been past his prime but a grip on the bicep is a grip on the bicep .Prime or not thats not something you are gonna muscle your way out of , so this idea that Foreman can magically bust out of that position is absurd. Also you gotta microanalyze what i mean by jab at the same time, Johnson jabbed and put that rear hand up to stop jabs when he did it ,Foreman swung with that rear arm down by his waist , if they jab at the same time Johnson lands and foreman gets his jab parried. In fact because Foreman jabs with his arm down or will same time that is why Tunney would skunk him ,Loughran would skunk him,Langford probably stops him.

Well, I feel it would look better for me if I say " trolling " but no ! I was serious, so yea maybe Rocky wouldn't have stood much of a chance(mind you a few here have said if he gets past the early rounds !) but yea on reflection, he wouldn't.
As to Jeffries getting " smashed " well I mean he was a big , strong, incredibly tough, with a disdain for punishment , so he might, just might have been able to take the early onslaught, then come back when George was gassing ( which he prob would have been, if its the Foreman of 73/74 ) and force a stoppage No ? but I respect your view. keep well.

I only mentioned this because you said it worked only against 180 lbs small guys. It worked against Jeffries, it worked against Moran and I bet it worked against big guys like Martin, McVea and many, many others.

Come on, this is ridiculous... Do you really believe that Loughran would "skunk" Foreman?
