I can see Spence TKOing Pac. Pac is as old as dirt in a young man's game. That being said I'd like to see Pac pull this out as I too am an old guy. Plus, Pac has been great for the sport of boxing. I'd like to see him find a way to win and then retire.
There are some fights that just boil down entirely to what a geezer might have left, and this is the case here. The classic one was Vitali-Peter - prime for prime, Peter's chances are equal to the chances that Vitali will injure himself. Peter will never, ever win, in 1,000 tries, if Vitali is uninjured when they meet in their primes. So when Vitali returned to fight Peter straight out the garage, all that mattered was what % of Vitali was little enough for Peter to win and what % of Vitali himself remained. That was the only question. Two years outside the ring is too long for a 42-year old man. I'll be cheering for Pacquiao but my expectations are that Spence will squeak out a points victory or blow Pacquaio up depending on what the old man has remaining. But that will be an unknown probably until late in round 2.
I'm wondering if the 2 year layoff will allow Pac to come back the most refreshed he's been in 10 years. Doesn't get fat, doesn't drink, doesn't smoke. But then there's the issue of ring rust... Pac should have fought at least an 6-8 round exhibition before signing for this fight.
I just hope more people think Pac wins and start to put money on him so I can clean up at the books. I will place a large bet on Spence in this fight if that happens.
Even in his prime Spence would give Pac hell. If Pac was struggling and losing to guys like Bradley for example he would do the same with Spence.
Spence is going to rough up Pac and stop him. People are reading too much into the Thurman fight, as Keith had lost his fighting spirit by then and didn't want to take chances. Spence is cold blooded and won't take undue risks but will bring the fight to an aging Pac who can't use his legs anymore. Will be a sad evening but I'm going to make some $$.
Stop! A prime pac couldn't maul and stop a shot Erik Morales or JMM or Bradley he's not mauling or stopping a bigger and more physical fighter in Spence either. Wishful thinking just like you picking Pac by KO doesn't work in boxing. Prime for prime Spence always gives Pac hell. He's big can box and is physical who can fight on the inside and go to the body.
This, after seeing what Porter did to him. Bradley is also a very different fighter to Spence, relies on slipperyness. And Pac dominated the 2nd and 3rd fight. Danny had outright said Thurman was the more skilled, harder hitting fighter. Just that Spence is very strong, but Margarito strong?
Spence is much better than Margo with that siad Margo inflicted alot of damage to Pac as for Cotto, Spence is better than the version of Cotto that Pac beat who was drained and fresh off the death of his father who had a garbage camp. He's not mauling Spence a guy with leaky defense like a prime Pac who would get timed and walk into something big from Spence.
