If AJ does vacate WBO belt vs USYK is that a duck?

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by timeout, May 25, 2021.

AJ dumps the WBO belt is a massive duck?

  1. Hell no ! AJ is just frustrated because Fury fight fell through.

  2. AJ ass just prolapsed when he heard he's fighting USYK

    Hang On Mr G

Hearn can't have it both ways, he just stuck Usyk on with Chisora in a PPV and his reasoning was Usyk was a "big name, an all time great crusierweight and one of the best heavyweights in the division"

Hearn talked him up to sell a PPV and That was Hearns way of justifying a PPV fight with Chisora.

Hearn can't turn around a few months later and say "Usyk isn't a big name and isn't a PPV fighter"

Hearn bangs on about paying Chisora, Whyte PPV monies because it's their value, their worth.. so what is Usyks?

I don't think it's a case of Usyk not being a PPV fighter, more that the total pot for a Chisora vs Usyk fight is lower than for an AJ vs Usyk fight. And I'm not saying AJ/Hearn would be ducking, more that I suspect Usyk would want more than 20% of whatever pot is available. I think the fight can happen and I don't believe AJ wouldn't take it, I'm just not convinced all the numbers will add up.

I think AJ genuinely wants to keep hold of all his belts.
I'll be surprised if he gives one up rather than face Usyk.

Personally I don't know how and why the WBO heavyweight belt is valued by anyone. It seemed to gain value sometime after Lewis retired in the 2000s.

I think all the belts are pretty much discredited.

If AJ held all the belts but to give one up would it be the WBO? Look at its history. No Lineal champion at the time that champion held that title held this belt.

AJ will fight anyone, he doesn’t care. And won’t vacate.

usyk demanding more money will be the issue in getting this fight signed

He will be told he will get 20% regardless, its a mandatory 80 20 in AJ's favour, Hearn will make this clear.
No one can win a purse bid against AJ and Eddie unless Triller came in. Usyk will just agree to the deal and get the fight made, the question is will AJ just vacate, i would say this is the most likey scenario.

Next to no chance AJ will just vacate? Why do you say this is the most likely scenario?

Its 75-25 if its in UK, but will be 80-20 in a different country.
Hearn said 80-20, but by regulation its 75-25 if its in UK. UK, because that is the Joshua country, and he is the Champ. If its in other country tho, its 80-20. For me that rule make no sense at all, but .....
I think this will be the main issue here.
As i said before Usyk and his team are idiots. He should have push, and even threaten to sue, and get that belt for free and fight Joyce like 4-6 months ago already. He would have earned way more money first from Joyce, being a title fight, and second in a unification bout with Joshua. As well as have a ***** hand in the negotiation. Right now he is 100% absolutely f*******.
Hearn played him big time. And he is his co-promoter ... Its all Usyk and his manager fault tho. They was played big time.
But as i said long ago, he is past his prime by far, and he should have never moved to the HW. He f***** his career big time.
You either move to HW early on your career when you are young or you are not doing it at all.

Damn, this mean that Pulev get 30%? Pulev was A.J mandatory from IBF.
Sorry, how highly or low you value Usyk, Parker or Chisora, damn_______________
Pulev vs A.J looked far worse than Parker vs Chisora and Usyk vs Chisora and was boring to watch!!!!!!!!!!
I had correct choice and didn't had watched this in fight day, only recently few stuff from YT.

    Why?
Bellew and Haye for example were relatively successful, okey, you might insist that they were bad or claim like this.
Still they had good $ from fights at HW and were not that bad.
Haye get famous after fight vs giant Valuev, Bellew: performed well vs Haye at HW and get good paychecks, later trimmed again down back to CW and carefully prepared to fight vs the same Usyk for all belts Usyk did had ( looks that 5 from most well known belts : The Ring, WBC,WBA,IBF and WBO ).
Tickets had been sold well and both of them get good purses.

Why? His team is damn smart that moved him up to HW for serious reason, while you think that he won his opponents at CW easliy, in reality most likely he never had won 2 from these CW boxers again.
While at HW he already does have 2 wins and not bad paychecks.

And what upper hand in negotiations Usyk might had if he had beated Joyce even 2X?
He still did not had main org world title belt. Ppl here still had posted that he is nothing and had done at HW nothing.

So what in reality he should had did if he wished to get respect, especially in this forum?
Find money and book Pulev and old Povetkin to fight with. :nonono Not Joyce who is lesser well known.
