AJ dumps the WBO belt is a massive duck?

  1. Hell no ! AJ is just frustrated because Fury fight fell through.

  2. AJ ass just prolapsed when he heard he's fighting USYK

No, WBO belt started to be recognized as a major belt well before Lewis retired. In lower weight divisions it was often the belt that was held by the best man who was fighting there - Hamed, Barrera, Calzaghe, Eubank...

Well, if boxer is from U.K, US or Mexico, WBO belt is good for the same posters who are talking that this belt is nothing if this is boxer from another country.
Boxing fans are very tribal and nationalistic, with dual standards.:)
Boxer's origin matters for a lot of posters more than boxing.

You, for example. If there weren’t any Eastern euros in boxing, you wouldn’t be here. You would be complaining about how unfair the world is to them in some other sport.

The WBO still has less prestige than the other belts. It’s recognised now but it’s history at heavyweight is pretty hollow. Moorer gave it up to fight Holyfield. Holyfield demanded Bowe vacate it in their Non-Title fight. It’s holders include Mercer, Hide, Bentt. Hardly a rich history. If it wasn’t for the millions involved I think I know which of the four belts AJ , Fury or whoever holds all of them would choose to give up.

Of course, if US boxer does not have this, then belt is bad belt.
IBF belt is better, they ordered Pulev as mandatory for A.J

I do know what belt is more prestigious for US people: WBC belt, Wilder might sit 5 years on this belt and fight not known boxers.
I do know how damn prestigious this WBC belt in reality is.

For example WBC had removed from Glowacki vs Briedis fight their belt ( nothing special, all belts are joke ).
    Then Makabu get this belt.
Last boxer who Makabu had in the ring was 40 y.o Dorodola. :)

WBC is not better there. Noting is good there.

Ohh, when US boxers does have this belt, they are well advertised as good belts, for example Crawford :):nonono.
Then there also other even more notable US boxing stars had WBO belt.

Ofc WBA and WBC are older orgs, from 60 ies.

I’m not saying that the other organisations are better. All of them have flaws. I’m just saying that the WBO has not got the history the other belts have got. And never will. Holmes gave the IBF credibility as did Hager and to a certain extent Curry. The WBO never had that. Gerald Mcllelan is a perfect example. Win the WBO belt then gave it up to go after Jackson’s WBC. It’s just the way it is.

Well a lot of famous boxers had WBO belts.

Floyd Jr: he had WBA, WBC, The Ring, WBO!, IBF, IBO belts.
Oscar ( DLH) : WBC, WBO!, WBA, IBF, IBA, The Ring belts.
Pacman had also WBO belt, ofc also bunches with other belts.

WBO belts also had these boxers: Hearns, Hopkins, Benn, Canelo. :)

I ofc sorted just very quick list whit just a few boxers from well known boxers who had WBO belts.

I know. It’s just that no true all time great heavyweight held or needed to hold that belt. Since it was created in 1988 these all time greats never held it at the time they were Lineal / Undisputed or both. Tyson, Holyfield, Foreman or Lewis. Now since it’s 31 years old and it has never been held by a reigning Undisputed Lineal Unified Champion why bother now?

That's correct but I did say "WBO heavyweight".

I will say : Eubank was never the best man fighting in any division.
He was possibly lower top 10, no higher than #5 at middleweight. He was probably slightly higher at super-middleweight, but never #1, more like #3 or so.

    Of course no.
They might be more fair and realistic and close to reality:
    1. Each promoter might have their own belts, including for each country separate belts and all will be more clear there.
    Nothing wrong.

Pro boxing is maybe 1% integrity and sport there, 99% business and better they had belts according to real business here.
Each promotion issue their own belts;) and then all will be clear because boxing is not far from these mma orgs in real, even more boring.

I also suggest rank boxers according sales incomes from them on card and have for example : U.K HW belt in promotion X, belt in promotion Y, US HW belt in promotion A, US HW belt in promotion B etc.

    Why not?
And then we will not have these talks about : bad era ( top boxers from not proper country ) etc casual things.

    Boxing is about business.
