i dont get what youre asking? ive maintained that aj is the best out of the lot for the last 4 years. why would i think he is worried about anybody? he knows he can beat anybody, even if theres bumps along the way, just like lewis knew. its not like the bumps arent making them richer.

 

You should stop with the narrative that somehow Briedis was robbed, or that fight was draw or close to it. Judges give all they could to Briedis. He was punching thin air and Usyk elbow most of the time, and yet they gave him rounds for doing so.
That was a clear win for Usyk. The fight could have been competitive, but not close at any sense.
I saw you from long time ago, that you trying to downplay Usyk, cause you are a big Briedis fan, but ain`t happening.
Usyk clean the division with ease, and would have ruled it for as long as he actually stay in shape and not be total out of prime. That much better he was than the rest.
Dorticos who ? The guy that was KO by Gassiev ? The same guy that Usyk beat him 12-0, and for the whole fight barely landed a punch ?

He could have made very solid fights at CW, and he was unified Champion, but he get ahead of himself at that advanced age trying to conquer the HW, and that was terrible move.
For 3 whole year he got 2 matches, against journeyman and a complete nobody. Terrible move i don`t care how much you are trying to downplay him and staying he would have been beaten or tested or so at CW, this is just plain b.c.

Still there is a big difference to stay in your natural class, that you are used to, and to move to the bigger guy, that have all the advantages over you, including they be in their prime, and you not.

And again stop dreaming, Usyk at CW is unbeatable.

 

I'm getting th impression Hearn would drop the WBO belt. He keeps mentioning vacating, now it may be a negotiating tactic but I don't see how it benefits negotiations or AJ.

Anyway, they are not his belts, they are AJ's and I don't believe AJ wants to drop the WBO.

For two reason, firstly the undisputed dream and secondly the amount of abuse he would get be off the charts.

I don't think for one minute that Joshua will want to vacate as he's been chasing the dream of being the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lewis since 2018.

Only reason he should even consider it is if Fury/Wilder 3 fight collapses and Fury becomes available again and the WBO decides to still enforce the mandatory. Any other scenario Joshua's reputation takes a hit and Joshua is too concerned about his legacy to risk that.

 

They have only 2 business day to finish that deal, like Usyks manager said.

 

They also said there are no obstacles to getting the deal done and are confident a deal will get finalised so it will likely happen but as is often the case it will probably go down to the wire.

While yeah, Usyk had won this one and no surprise: during long time proven former proven amateur superstar had won this fight mainly via jabs.
Nothing wrong and enough predictable outcome there.

Against Usyk even trash talk in western style did not had been used to increase tickets sales for these fights.

Ahh, Gassiev who hits harder than Usyk had worked very diligently and damn hard vs Dorticos and yeah, he had stopped Dorticos becuse he landed on him some 2-3 very good body blows and after this ofc head blows.
Still even almost out of the ring, Dorticos did not looked like Whyte after 1 punch from Povetkin. While yeah, Gassiev won him.

No while ago you were saying this fight was super close, and something like it should have been a draw or so.
Sorry, but no Usyk fight was close enough. He beat them all !!! And no i said it was a competitive fight, but Usyk won fair and square, and that the fight was closer on the cards, when on reality it wasn`t that close. Briedis was punching Usyk elbows and thin air, and he get rounds for that ....

I never call someone a bum or f**** him, cause he lost. If you fight a top contenders, a lost will eventually come, no matter how good you are. There is just too much things that could go wrong, and too much details. That how the fighting works.
That is why so many top MMA fighters have so many loses, cause they fight the best out there, in boxing this ain`t happening most of the time.

And i have said long ago that Usyk doesn`t look as sharp any longer. Against Bellew, even tho he won, his punch output was lower, his reflexes was way worsts, as well as his footwork not used to be.
Against Chisora he looked even worst. As i have said that, his out of prime increased by the stupid move to go to HW.
Still Usyk was so superior in CW, at least in my mind he would have dominated even past prime.
He got no chance in that at HW. You get my point now?

It depends from scoring criteria and how one or another commentator valued this.
I more trust some notable persons from Western World, some ukrainian commentators and Wlad, Vitali, Usyk's opinions about this fight.
One from Klits had gave small opinion before this fight and this was not to predict easy fight.

Thin air? Usyk was down in the ring after this Briedis had pushed him.
The punches Usyk in reality had to win this fight were jabs. They gave him win there.

Usyk does have less chances to stop in distance AJ than boxers like Bellew, Briedis, Dorticos, Makabu, this if we talk about CW boxers.
Usyk does not beat enough hard for CW top5 boxers, not alone there about HW boxers.
Ofc he is during long proven world class amateur star who later had been proved himself as turning from star to a superstar in ams and this matters damn a lot. You can't cherry pick anyone, you can't get any one old uncle or short notice lad in am elite level to fight with.
Fight with lad who they gave to you to fight with or go home.

Usyk's does have flaws: he is boxer not a boxer - puncher or puncher - boxer.
This does matters if you can't get fair cards.
In WBSS he could get fair cards because they did not had used local judges or judges from countries from where boxers are, actually WBSS had maintained integrity pretty well and there had been proofs with boxers from other countries too.
WBSS2 tournament had turned US boxer in Tabiti into World Title cotender for IBF World title and WBSS 1/2 finalist because in Russia judges had scored for him win vs then undefeated EE prospect who then had 23-0-0 pro record.
WBSS2 had made Tabiti into World title cotender cos decision win in Russia vs EE boxer.

Usyk always is highly motivated and disciplined.
The problem is that his style requires very high agility level and this is thing that not rare cases ( usually ) declines before all other physical parameters, usually long before gas tank and recovery period.
Usyk is very mobile high guard boxer who does have very good for his size legwork and ________ agility.
Usyk style is not so close to Loma style at all, this is some mix from EE am boxing and_______english boxing.

Part of his defense not only also offense is angles change what requires high sharpness and agility level.
For example he uses high dynamic guard, he might use shifted guard and he does use body " core " angle changes a lot for both: offense and defense with a glance.

Such stuff also decreases punches landed effect and also effect from punches landed on guard effect on him, ofc also enchances his offense abilities.


Reducing even by few % from agility does have high effect on such style usage.
It isn't style that ages well and bearing in mind that he does have very long mileage under belt, despite by age he is younger than the same Briedis.

Dorticos IRL ofc was worse than Briedis and lost vs Gassiev but he IRL still was not much worse and is elite, unlike these Usyk, Briedis he also looks that did not had suffered injuries. Gassiev did not had beated him up easily, fight almost went till cards and Gassiev worked very hard vs Dorticos. If he did not had landed some ( not just 1 or 2 ) very good full power blows on his liver and core, Dorticos not likely had been down after head blows form Gassiev alone.

 

If about supposedly unfair cards vs Briedis for Usyk or that this Briedis had performed badly vs Usyk this is completely wrong.
Usyk then had K2 proms etc lads to work vs him and this Briedis then wasn't with german promoters. This looks that was exactly after " bad " performance vs Usyk. For fight vs Usyk germans could not get any additional cent if this Briedis (or Usyk) had won because no one from them then was under germans.
The same applies for fight Usyk vs Gassiev.
Also fight vs Huck ofc had very intensive moral pressure on Usyk but most likely you do not know euro boxing scene so deeply.
Huck then long ago had some his own promotion and contracts with media, he wasn't anymore so much under W and K and N lads from well known german boxing promotion business.
However yeah, there was higher risk.

Most highest risk to get unfair cards ever Usyk had was in Poland vs Glowacki cos this then was up coming tickets seller and 2-0 in world title fights with yelling supporting crowd and Usyk was not well known in pro boxing circles cos this was his 1 st title fight for full world title.
Current champ if he already does have successful title defense under belt usually gets benefit of doubt regards to very close or close rounds.
Ofc also if he is tickets seller in country where fight does happens and opponent does have first fight for full world title, there is not easy. Crowd too applies very high moral pressure on challenger and support to current champ - tickets seller.
