GGG is destined to be a HOF ATG? Ummmmm I don’t think so but hey BHop is considered an ATG so who knows
I’m torn when it comes to GGG.... I hate the fact he stayed in the amateurs so long and IMO had way too many amateur fights. Secondly he was avoided for so long we never really got to see him tested earlier in his pro career. But he does have some good but not great scalps on his resume and IMO he beat Clen in both fights. More convincingly in the first then second one, plus he does have a lot of defenses of his title. Can I see him beating Hagler, Monzon, , RJJ, Toney, Hopkins , etc? Not really, but you never know and that’s why we love boxing.
dude your a casual with the ducking argument when it’s been shown clear as day he just like the rest of these fighters beating on nobodies looking for a payday... every all time great fighter has made some concession or moved out of their comfort zone to establish a legacy... GGG was content asking a former jr MW to move up and fight him an didn’t attempt to make any other notable fight
dude what you said is exactly why GGG ain’t get fights him and Jacobs are on the same level he wasn’t the typical nobody mandatory and the fight almost didn’t get made because Jacobs asked for like 35% instead of 25... Canelo is the biggest star in boxing yet when making a fight with GGG the only diva was the guy with no resume. I understand ppl like GGG because he’s entertaining but that’s like Amir Kahn trying to dictate to manny Pacquiao. Dude ducked out on fight Lara and Trout for Wade and Monroe claiming they’re the same when 2 fighters have been world champs and #1 in they division before and the other 2 have never won a notable fight ever... y’all GGg fans are embarrassing
Think about this Caleb plant is a no airy who made less than a mil his last fight yet Canelo might give him 10mil just to get in the ring and take his belt... meanwhile GGG had an issue out of giving Jacobs an extra 500k and that fight almost didn’t get made because of it... it’s a reason why some fighters don’t get fights and why some fighters become stars every Top dog has GONE OUT OF THEIR WAY TO MAKE FIGHTS, Golovkin hasn’t and y’all make excuses for it
Some have gone way out of their way to avoid GGG as well, most famously Canelo. He gave up his belt and needed 16 months to grow into the middleweight division even though he already weighed the same or more Than GGG on fight night while competing at 154lbs. Everybody knew why he gave up his belt, The Ring should have taken his Ring belt as well.
votes are a toss up so far , beating a very good champion in Murata at an advanced age would solidify his greatness in my opinion
Bhop is considered an ATG because of his insane longevity, skillset and solid resume. He is far more proven than GGG
Hall of Famer yes ATG No He came up just short in the 2 defining most important fights of his career.
