I feel like his explanation still wasn't good enough. What the hell actually happened? I feel like his purse needs to be withheld until he can explain himself.

He got his ****ing face caved in, and most likely, had his career effectively ended, if that doesn't suffice, then I have no ****ing idea what would.

Retired on stool from facial damage. What other explanation is required? Plenty do the same under less circumstance.

BJS lost the bout, he lost the title and thus lowered his earning potential, reason being a fractured eye socket requiring surgery to mend it, what is there extra to explain?
Canelo is even reported to have said to his trainer Eddy Reynoso “I know he’s not coming out because I broke his cheek.”

Clenelo's roided uppercut bomb ended a man's career.

Just rewatched Inoue Donaire and you see the punch that cracked Inoue's socket in Rd2 then see Donaire tag him in the exact same place about 50 times in the rest of the fight

Billy quit. He wanted out that fight after feeling Canelo's power. His trainer said he'll give Billy one more round, Billy said, "nuh uh, get me outta here". He wasn't goin out on his shield, he hopped out that ring, couldn't take no more of Canelo.

So you would have carried on with such an injury?

Is going out on your shield ,going blind and waking up never seeing the world again?

What a load of tosh that code is

Was the injury as bad though?

Genuine question, as i know Billy had like 3 breaks

Fair play to Inoue but he took a big risk with his future life there

He quit. Billy had no heart, he showed zero testicular fortitude, he refused to fight through the pain and go out on his shield. His legacy was defined at that moment. When faced with adversity, he could have showed the heart of a warrior and fought on. Instead, he hopped out that ring. Embarrassing. It's embarrassing for legends like Fernando Vargas to see a fighter quit like that on his stool in the biggest fight of his life. Fernando was a warrior who fought through much worse.

You go out on your shield, that's what you do, you leave it all in the ring. Especially after Billy built himself up talking real tough how this was life and death for him, how he had so much heart, then he just quit.
