who and where should Taylor fight next?

I would like Lopez to move up and fight Josh, for me this is the biggest fight in boxing outside of Fury vs AJ.
Both undisputed in their weight classes and both fantastic P4P fighters.
Both have accusation with Top Rank so sould get rid of all politics, crowds are back so there is nothing stopping this fight.

 

Caterrall in Edinburgh or Glasgow then go up

 

I think he has earned his night in Edinburgh, defend all 4 belts then move up to fight Crawford

 

Jack Catterall or Prograis rematch.

 

I think Catterall is next, I think he only stepped aside with the agreement that he would be next.

 

I would like to see him fight Jack Catterall next, homecoming fight in Scotland. The atmosphere would be phenomenal and Josh has more than earned that big night in front of his fans as unified world Champion,

It's also only because of Catterall being reasonable and accepting some step aside money that this fight went ahead, I imagine he was given assurances he will fight Josh next, if so that should be honored.

Josh always says he makes 140 easy and seems very genuine when he does say it. If so, then I would not rush him to 147. I would stay at 140 if he feels strong there and makes the weight well. His height and power would give him a very good advantage over fighters coming up to 140 and there is no shortage of big money fight for him without moving to 147.

 

Would like to see him rematch Prograis as he deserves that after his Catterall fight. If not then move up imo.

 

No.. Bob the snake Arum was definitely Team Ramirez last night. He always chooses a side , like he did with Teofimo against Loma.

Last night he chose the same corrupt judges that scored Ramirez-Postol, he hired Kenny Bayliss to try every trick in the book for Ramirez, after the fight he said he agreed with the judges bent scoring and looked disapointed that Ramirez lost.

 

After beating Ramirez, the referee and the 3 judges in a fight he was meant to be robbed blind in. The least he deserves is home fight against Catterall.

Let him enjoy being undisputed at the weight and defending the undisputed status.

Then he can go up in weight and make super money.

They will try and rob him blind again though against Crawford or any other A side US superstar fighter.

 

It depends what he wants to do, obviously the big money fights are up at WW but if he spends another few years at Light-Welter then he could very well go down at the best ever LWW in history.

 

I definatly think that Taylor should fight Catterall. If he can get it in Edinburgh, that would be a special night for Josh, and one that, imo he deserves.
He could weigh up his options after the Cat fight, a fight with Lopez would be another big fight. Josh should stay at 140 for a bit longer, I reckon.

Ok mate calm yourself there with that silly talk.

 

Why is that silly talk? If Taylor wanted to stay at LWW, he could very well go down as the GOAT at that weight. Look at boxrec now, in their top 5 of all time they have Hatton, Tsyzu, Arcari, Chavez Sr and Bradley.

You could already make arguments that Taylor has out achieved Hatton and Bradley (at LWW), though certainly some defences wont help. Chavez wasn’t really at his best at LWW but has some solid wins, but didn’t beat another champion at the weight outside of Meldrick Taylor in tricky circumstances. Tsyzu is great because of his extraordinary run from about 97-‘04 and that would be a hard one for Taylor to top, but he’s certainly started off better than Tsyzu did. Acari whilst a very good fighter never really travelled the world and defended against largely mediocre opposition in his native Italy.

It would not be a stretch for Taylor, given he is 18 fights in and a unified champion having now beaten 5 unbeaten boxers in a row at world level and prior to that beating Postol (world level), Campos (Gatekeeper), Vasquez (slightly faded but his recent performances show what a good win that was) and Ohara Davies (then unbeaten and has gone on to win the Golden Contract so will likely challenge for a belt himself.)

I honestly think the only thing that would stop Taylor topping the list would be lack of longevity, compared to say Tsyzu, but if he keeps up racking brilliant wins up he’ll be right up there.

 

I rate Taylor highly, but on this one we will agree to disagree.
