Fair enough, I suppose it depends on who his opponent is. Although I don't agree that Usyk has really proven himself a better fight than Whyte or Ortiz yet, but if I was AJ I'd be fighting Usyk.

I think the old Joe Louis comes into play here.... “He can run but he can’t hide”

eventually AJ will catch up to him

Why couldn't Usyk slip and slide against the old and shot Chisora?
And have you forgotten how AJ knocked out Wlad by pressuring him?

Ah yes old 41 year old shaky chin Wlad who wasn't known for his slickness in his prime. Also Wlad is a big heavyweight, Usyk is a far smaller target and has significantly better head movement than Wlad and better footwork. Chisora is a better, more natural pressure fighter than Aj in general anyways. Aj is better at pressuring bigger heavyweights than he is against smaller ones. Watch Aj pressure 6'9 Ivan Dychko with success then watch Aj struggle to apply pressure to 6'4 Erislandy Savon during the Olympics

Chisora was 36 when he fought Usyk, took up boxing aged 19, had 20 amateur fights and 41 pro ones

Wlad was 41 when he fought AJ, took up boxing when he was 13 IIRC, and had 140 amateur fights and 69 pro ones

We all do know that A.J marquee fights are vs over the hill opponents.

Don't forget that A.J wasn't able to finish Parker and Ruiz :).

In general A.J fans are with pleasure milking here his win vs old Wlad and this is proof how unique A.J is.
Fury had outboxed in very boring fight a bit younger Wlad's version.
What a big proof to beat 41 y.o boxer who had last fight 1 year 5 months ago, while A.J being 250 lbs and old Wlad 240 lbs.

You had been told that Usyk and even Vitali does not even box like Wlad did.

For you only surnames in resume matters, nothing more.

A.J was not able to finish nor Parker nor Ruiz, interestingly how proud he is with his fans and his great geriatric opponents resume?
Who from not old boxers he had stopped?
Whyte, yeah, let's book Whyte to fight with again.
Someone else he already had stopped?

I don't get why people are stirring things up against Usyk for wanting a high purse. More money could just mean he thinks the purse is worth more rather than wanting a higher % of that purse. AJ's reputation would be damaged if he chooses to avoid Usyk but I don't blame him as technically he is not on the same level as Usyk.

Where's AJ and Hearn? 31st May was the deadline or it's going purse bids.

Sky Sports reporting yesterday if it goes to purse bids AJ is dropping the belt.. others also reporting that.

But that said, I can only assume Hearn has asked for an extension because a deal is "close".

    It's getting interesting.

Hahahahahaha... hang on, I live in London

But you're right, most of it is a slum, I'm not gonna lie.

Anyway, If and it is "if" AJ drops the WBO belt this forum will be flooded with this line "it was a business decision".

I can't see why this won't be agreed, if AJ and Hearn really believe AJ walks through Usyk then a rematch clause shouldn't be a deal breaker.

It's just part of being a champion and a part of being a mandatory... mandatory challengers do not have to accept a rematch clause, this isn't new or some rule designed just for AJ, all champions have the same set of circumstances.

Well, Usyk at a weight below unified the division, cleaned up, so therefore has at least been a world champion, just like Holyfield and Haye.

Whyte hasn't even fought for or won a European title, he hasn't fought for a world title.. let that sink it, Whyte hasn't even won a European title and was sparked by old man Povetkin.

Likewise Ortiz hasn't won a world title and is 97 years old.

Usyk is a far better fight than either of those two, either of those instead of Usyk is a joke, the only fighters I would forgive AJ dropping a belt for is Fury or Wilder, everybody else isn't worth it.

    Yeah I agree 100%

Hearn was on every YouTube platform for months with "any day now" and when that goes sideways he vanishes..

Then comes back, has a pop at the governing bodies, says AJ might drop his belt and then vanishes again.

    It's n good enough.

I also want to know what's going on with Sky and DAZN, we still haven't heard anything about that, we were apparently being given the announcement a while ago.

If usyk performs like he's done at Cruiserweight Joshua could be in trouble, but what I'm saying is that since is last title fight, his performances have been questionable.

I've not seen a performance from Usyk in the last 3 years that would suggest Joshua will be in a massive amount of trouble.

Whooping CW division at 14 stone, is a whole different kettle of fish then whooping heavyweight at 16 stone+

When Usyk was facing Chisora, he didn't look at quick as he did at CW.

We're just gonna have to wait and see what happens, because no one can say exactly how good Usyk is anymore after all his weight gain, his large amounts of inactivity and injuries, you never know what he will be like vs AJ.

It's difficult to predict the fight, but if I had to bet I'd say AJ KO's, but then again I've not seen Usyk really bombarded with power shots before on the same level that AJ could fire them out.

I expect a fight that Joshua wins by decision. It will probably be razor close with people on here crying robbery and citing it as a defacto loss for years to come.
