Personally I think any fighter that has the balls to pressure Wilder and take the fight to him blasts him to the stratosphere but what do you guys think?
Back then, when i was a kid with little boxing knowledge, i used to say the rock would roar inside Wilder and beat him up and chop him like a giant oak tree, unless if Wilder caught him on his way in. This was when i was a casual boxing fan. But now, I still thinks Marciano attach himself to his side and beat the crap out of him!!!!!!!!
The only people who think Rocky Marciano would win are the same people Eddie Murphy brought up in Coming to America. Deontay Wilder by knockout in less than 1 minute.
Here's what happened when I did this thread 8 years ago... all 23 pages of it. https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/deontay-wilder-versus-rocky-marciano.485563/
Lol then you realize there are weight classes in boxing for a reason. Marciano was a 180 pound fighter so not a modern sized heavyweight. It is funny how people like you pick and choose when it benefits you. It I made a thread called Rocky Marciano vs Roy Jones Jr. You would say Marciano would win because he is bigger. But with Marciano vs any legit modern sized heavyweight you will say sized doesn't matter only skills matter. Which is funny since Marciano didn't have any size or skilled. Deontay Wilder by 1st round slaughter.
You're pitting a 5ft10, 185 pounds cruiserweight against a 7 ft, 225 pounds heavyweight, what do you expect here? Marciano has been downed by Charles and Moore two blown up light heavies, one right hand from Donkey and he will be in lala land.
I think this is a lot more nuanced and complicated then just "Big man beats little man because small man small". Wilder has clear weaknesss, like not having the experience with elite level opposition, not knowing how to fight on the backfoot, limited footwork, zero defense, etc. Other than Power possibility, Marciano is objectively better in every category than Wilder. And Wilder averages 213 pounds every fight, Marcianos highest was like 190, so while steep, the weight difference isnt too far apart
Normally I would favor the Slugger over the Swarmer, assuming they were close in level. In this case, however, I'm going with Rocky by a stoppage. We saw the Boxer/Slugger, 37 year old Joe Louis, vs. Rocky, the Swarmer. I would favor that 37 year old Louis over the 35 year old Wilder, so I have to go with Rocky in this match up. He wasn't the Louis of old, but he really wasn't as bad, at 37, as some seem to think he was. In fact, he was still a pretty good World Class Heavyweight going into that fight.
Right then you realize you are dead wrong. But you are the typical person who I referred too who loves to make excuses for Rocky Marciano. Marciano was a 185 pound guy for most of his fights. The last time there was a 180 pound heavyweight champion was back in the 1950's. So if 5'10 185 pound guy could beat modern sized heavyweights then why hasn't it happen for the last 60 years? Wait Marciano is special. Logic doesn't apply to him right? If you actually think Marciano had any level of skill then I will just block you right here. Bye bye.
Deontay Wilder is 6'6 not 7 feet tall but I get your point. Also Marciano wasn't knocked down by Ezzard Charles he was knocked down by Walcott though. Marciano was also almost knocked out by Ted Lowry a natural 170 pound fighter. Marciano fans will never tell you that though.
What the hell is your problem? Why do you feel the need to go around insulting people because they have a different opinion to you? Grow the **** up.
