I agree with a few posters on this thread. I'm not convinced that Dubois is a really hungry fighter. He looks to have been moulded throughout his life for this occupation...almost like he's living someone else's life instead of his own. That doesn't mean he's not capable of making the improvements and going on to win a world title but to me he just reminds me of someone who is a project for his parents rather than a person of his own.
Yes, Hrgovich has had some questionable performances where although he has of course won, he has looked far from impressive (Molina comes to mind..). He's looked really good at times too but if they had a fight tomorrow yes definite 50-50 vs Dubois. With his power Dubois would at least have a 50% chance as Hrgovich has never been hit that hard in the pro ranks and we have no real idea how durable he is. For what it's worth I also think Hrgovich will win a world title at some stage too- there are 4 belts and they will inevitably splinter in the years to come. I do rate him.
There's no shame losing to Joyce who has a wealth of experience and is arguably a top 5 contender. McGuigan is a top trainer and could do wonders for Dubois but as mentioned by others, it's the mental side of things that could be Dubois' undoing as he has all the physical attributes.
Imo I really think this fight is a little early following that injury. I just can’t see him coming through as a world champ as mentally the Joyce fight was a real set back and I really think the demons will kick in the moment he gets caught again. His style means he will have a tear up every time he boxes and we all know in HW boxing that won’t work.
