I insulted somebody by making a factual statement? Are you 10 years old? Does everything offend you? My factual statement still stands. Marciano weighed 180 pounds. There are weight classes in boxing for a reason. Deontay Wilder by first round knock out. Bye bye.

Marciano may be smaller but he's the wrong style for Wilder.

Wilder needs space to get his big bombs off and he has poor footwork, poor infighting skills and poor defence. Marciano crowds guys and roughs them up at close quarters. Now, If Wilder tied guys up and used his height on the shorties he might have a better chance but he doesn't. He doesn't even have the evasive footwork to maintain the space between himself and the other guy, if the other guy is determined to close the gap.

Wilder's best chance is to blow Marciano out early - and it might be possible, he's got the snapping shock power to do that - but Marciano was a harder target than people think. Wilder also takes a while to dial in the range on his big bombs. I reckon that the first few rounds are a whole lot of fun and pretty competitive, but as the fight goes on Wilder starts to fade and run out of ideas as the Rock pounds him to a pulp in a phone booth. 70-30 kind of fight for me.

    Size does matter.
Saying Marciano does not have any skill though is *profoundly* misguided.
Even '60's Ali said he was hard to hit cleanly.
His swarming, high volume attack & counter punching & the way he closed distance was very skilled.

    Anyway you are insanely biased.
And making Marciano only 180 lbs. regardless of how many times you are corrected advertises your dishonesty.

Swag unlike you, he may never grow up.
Just seeing him state that Marciano weighed 180 lbs.-no matter how many times he is corrected, & he can never site a source-shows he is either trying a laughable, futile lie, or is delusional.

He ignored that he insulted you.
Do not let him get you upset or drag you down to his level.

When? As far as I know, he didn't weight 180 lbs in any of his 1950s fights. It's more factual to call Marciano 190 lbs fighter than 180 lbs fighter.

But since you always use the lowest weight possible and round it down without any reason, then you should call Wilder 205 lbs fighter. He did have one fight at 207 lbs after all.

Thanks, but unnecessary. I do appreciate it, though. I'm a big guy and my hide is very thick. :D

In more modern times, they ran into Muhammad Ali in the 60's and 70's, and he could have beaten almost anyone from any era, including today's so called Supermen. After that, the naturally 185 pound men, who wanted to compete as Heavyweights, bulked up to well over 200 pounds so they could. They used "Modern Nutrition" to achieve those goals, just as Dempsey and Marciano would have if they had come up today.

If Marciano was 200 pounds or more and still possessed ths same speed and workrate I'd favor him to beat Wilder but the size difference is just to big and Wilder might POSSIBLY be the hardest puncher of all time

The size difference isn't actually that big.

A 214lbs vs 190lbs is a pretty manageable size disparity.

Wilder is usually around 220 actually. He only showed up at 212 and 214 a few times in his career after 2012. But Wilder isnt a SHW, when i mean size difference i mean Wilders frame as in height and reach accompanied with the fact that he's usually around 220lb. Thats a difference of over 30 pounds. Wilders frame is skinny compared to a real SHW like Lennox Lewis or Vitali Klitschko or Anthony Joshua but it is gargantuan compared to Marciano

Wilder weighed below 220 lbs in his absolute best performances (Ortiz fights and Fury draw). Either you take the best version of Wilder that didn't weight over 220 lbs, or you take slower, less conditioned version of Wilder that would be easier to beat.
