You have to hope he does well in my opinion. Seems a top lad, and very humble. He probably does have a ceiling. But him fighting for the British in Stoke would be class

Sadly, this is the same for most cards these days. Eddie Hearn, Arum, etc. I guess the fighters on show were at a stage where they are still building their records, e.g. Tommy Fury & Heaney. I do think Bogdan was a solid choice for Dubois coming back from his injury.

 

I accept that fighters have to learn their trade and sometimes take 'keep busy fights' but I thought Frank should've got at least something approaching a 50/50 on there. I actually enjoyed seeing the crowd back in and being lairy, but the boxing wasn't great mainly because it was primarily beat the journeyman.

Bogdan was a decent opponent on paper, not convinced he came really believing in himself however. At first I thought the count was fast, but he wasn't getting up even if it was. Still good to see Daniel back though and maybe he now needs time to work with his new trainer away from the expectation.

 

Woodstock vs Cacace was meant to be on it. But one of them pulled out, and ghe Archie Sharp fight as well.

 

Just looked at Eddie's card for Satirday. Is like he and Frank have played top trumps with moderate cards.

Fair enough but I don’t think there’s ever been two shows back to back from the pair of them this bad.

 

Hopefully the launch of DAZN brings much better.

 

Seemingly gone are the days of cross promotional cards, both Eddie and especially Frank's rosters are too thin to risk any of their established names or prospects taking a loss so we continually get served these Fighter A vs Moving Punch Bag E to fill out contracted fight nights with Sky and BT.
Unfortunately the solution to all of this (cross promotion cards) is not going to happen anytime soon.

DAZN is a bit of a myth. Fighters will get paid more maybe but what big fights out there have we missed recently? We got Canelo slaughtering our super middles. Joshua v Fury was made. Etc.

The only thing DAZN can do is monopolise the UK market for Hearn, see the Fury’s, the Josh Taylor’s etc who’ve opted to go elsewhere, well that decision is going to be much harder now. I think all the top UK fighters will be looking to move over.

The big question is - Are UK fighters good enough? The answer is unfortunately no in most cases. If we somehow manage to get big stars over to the UK they’re going to demolish most of our talent.
