Are there any Current LightHeavyweights/Cruiserweights that you would favor to beat Rocky Marciano?

Another Marciano post lol (atleast it isn't him against Heavy's right?). Would you guys favor any active or current Light Heavyweights or Cruiser weights to beat him? Guys like Beterbiev, or Bivol, or Cruiser Usyk, etc.

Usyk vs Marciano would likely be a messy, close decision either way. I'd favour Usyk.

No-one else comes close IMO. Briedis would give him good fight, but ends up losing. Same deal with Gassiev. Both dangerous, but not massively likely to win.

No way any LHW does it.

That's a no from me, currently. Usyk, as a Cruiser, would likely have been Rocky's hardest fight. Usyk has definitely moved on into the Heavyweight division now, and is likely to remain over 200 pounds, so, while I'm watching his career with interest, my opinion of him as a Cruiser (the OP's question applies here) is not going to change.

Usyk gives him a very tough fight, but i would favor the rock to force his way inside, using the classic tactics of a "swarmer," pounding usyk's body and stop him after getting badly outboxed early.

I thought about LHWs all-time, then I realized it's only about contemporary LHWs... No, none of them would beat Rocky.

I think Canelo has to be favored. Let's begin there.

I would slightly favor the Usyk who defeated Gassiev, but if we're talking about someone TODAY... no, then I can't think of a LHW or CW, I would put my money on in a fight against Marciano.

There isn't a Heavyweight Champion in the last 71 years I would pick to beat Marciano! NO ONE. With the maybe would be Liston Ali Frazier & Holmes. Everyone else no. The bigger they r the arder dey fall.

I think Canelo is the objectively better boxer, but his workrate has declined as he moved up. I also dont think Marciano gives Canelo the space or time to land some powerful counters, early on Marciano would probably get hit with some shots.

I dont thing he has the footwork to fight on the backfoot like Walcott did either. I think Marciano outworks Canelo and might crack his chin. idk if Canelo could take a loaded up Marciano shot.

Canelo COULD take some GGG shots pretty good, but Im pretty sure Marciano punches harder. So all around, Canelo has yet to prove alot of his limits at the higher weights, like a high workrate or stamina. His competition at these higher weights hasnt been "stellar" either .So id favor Marciano pretty confidently

I know you're trolling, but it's not even fun... How can you make such a good thread like Gans vs Packey and post this within the same hour?

On balance no, but there are some credible challengers.

It has long been a holy grail of Marciano detractors, to find somebody south of heavyweight who could beat him, and most of the names that they have put forward over the years look pretty silly in hindsight.

Now I think we are in a cruiserweight era, where there are some realistic candidates out there.

He would be a LHW today. Does that bother you?

Looking at Boxrec's top 10 CWs right now, Marciano beats all of them.
