That's the thing with predicting boxing matches. If scoring in boxing was in any way fair, everyone would be (a lot) more accurate in their predictions and many would pick differently. Pretty sure the daredevil list would have much higher scores too. The last couple of years with many of my picks I look at the location, promotion and then decide if the away fighter is good enough to still win the fight overcoming the stacked deck. Not really sure that's really working out for me, because I'm not doing great lately.
Yeah but we shouldn't forget that everyone was affected by these robberies (or just bad decisions)...i mean i picked Smith, Araneta, Taduran, Avagyan, Alvarado and Ramos on my own and feeled betrayed but in the end i don't think i would have a bigger lead if all those fights above would have scored "correctly". I think in the end robberies/bad decisions cancel each other out over 12 months. The ranking would probably be almost the same without it. Thats the good thing with the 12 months and the massive number of fights we're picking...which i think is a really good thing because last years we mostly had 95/5 fights....and a few pick em' fights were deciding the league and if you picked 4-5 wrong you were almost sure out of the race. Now you have like 50% pick em' fights overall which is pretty damn good to keep it very close.
Of course, but... that's not going to keep me from pointing it out. I'm very proud of my Forrest and Perrella predictions in particular. Low level the same about Reyes, Rakhimov and Mosley Jr. because I saw what was possible where most didn't. The rest, yeah, they were just fingers crossed I hope they don't **** them, what should have been obvious choices like Araneta, Taduran and Smith. The Alvarado, Avagyan and Ramos robberies all three I found perplexing. Don't feel bad, this competition is maddening to me as well. I zig and start winning, until I don't so I zag, then start losing, so I zig back, and get ****ed again. Playing it too safe takes a toll and taking too many risks do as well. No doubt, but... I was only doing mine. I have no desire to do a break down of everyone, because I can't remember picks you guys made yesterday, much less scrounge through 230 pages, but I encourage all of you to keep a running tally of the matches you feel you got screwed in, you i particular, because like me, you take some of the bolder risks in the league. Ultimately, like you said, it does balance itself out to a degree, however, when it comes down to some guys losing by a match or 3, that's when it really burns.

Tyson still sold tickets in the 2000s when he was way past his best, but I suspect that was more for the same reason people watch a train wreck than because he was still a good fighter.

Some changes for the German card on June 19th. Jose Larduet is out due to Covid-19. They changed the matchup and made Senad Gashi vs. Hussein Muhamed for the WBC Silver Title.
