Babic is an exciting fighter to watch but this is a poor opponent selection. There are British upcoming HWs out there who would give us a better fight
I would have no real issues with him fighting at this level in his 7th pro fight if it weren't for the fact he is constantly calling out Hrgovic who is top 15.
Just waiting for someone to bang an uppercut on Babic, he's asking for it. Dont have an issue with this to be honest. Babic is small and under sized anyway. Both haven't had loads of fights.
I've met Damian a few times actually. He's often around the area at Matthew Hatton's gym. You can catch him in coming in and out on some days. He's a sound guy. Entertaining fighter as well, with a poor man's Dmitry Kudryashov feel about him. Massive punch but no chin. If he lands on Babic, we could see an interesting one. There's not really a big size difference between them. Babic is basically a cruiserweight himself. I was just looking at Chambers' boxrec then and was shocked to see that they've only got him listed as 6'2. He's definitely taller than that. Just from what he looked like in person, he seemed every bit a heavyweight.
Babic is really playing up to the character matchroom have created for him now, yelling "Newcastle!" repeatedly on the behind the scenes video. I swear this time last year or whenever he first appeared on the scene he was a much quieter bloke
They need a novelty attraction now Dave Allen has stopped fighting (for the time being). It's all very contrived and they know what they're doing.
