100% all facts. You are right about we have a far greater chance to see another duran, SRL or robinson than seeing a manny pacquiao.

I have no idea how one gets to any stage in his career where a win or loss over Errol Spence is the determinant that hinges on whether he's regarded as the "GOAT".

    Bizarre.

I love Pacquiao. But I don't see how someone who lost to a faded Morales when he was in his prime, as well as having 2 incredibly close fights with Marquez before getting a gift decision in the 3rd fight and getting put to sleep in the 4th, as well as losing to the his biggest rival in Mayweather, can be considered the greatest of all time. He is one of the best, theres no doubt about that. But THE goat? When marquez and Mayweather both got the better of him? I just can't see it

Pac came from FLYWEIGHT and at age 42 is going to fight Errol Spence.

He's been a champion in 4 separate decades.

    5X lineal champion.

    8 division champion.

    Fighter of the Decade
Fighter of the Decade Runner-Up (he should have been the FOTD again)

Most times welterweight champion and oldest welterweight champion ever.

His career was supposed to be over 9 years ago.

People laughed when he said he was going to lightweight.

People laughed when he said he was going to 140/147.

    Crazy stuff.

While I don’t think it makes him the GOAT, it would be unbelievable.

Also all these people downplaying Spence for whatever reason need to get a grip.

My view on it is :-

    1) Taking the fight solidifies his ATG status, regardless of the outcome
    2) Beating Spence @42 is a great achievement if he were to win, but not sure exactly "how great" it would rank. Spence is not even HOF yet let along ATG, so I don't want to inflate the win all out of proportion - I'm still not sure how good Spence really is, (felt Spence v Crawoford would have told as a lot more about BOTH guys). Of course Spence still has time to move up to 154 and be 2 weight champ etc
    3) Even if Manny were to beat Spence it's hard to suggest he goes above Robinson, Ali, Armstrong or even Greb, Langford, Duran and others in the top 10.

But it certainly adds weight to his case - I think Rummys experiment with the points system was really great, and IIRC Pacman came out in 14th/15th? Maybe if he was to be Spence he has a case at breaching the top 10.

All you gotta know is that a former FLYWEIGHT is fighting an in prime P4Per at age 42 who also happens to be the biggest guy in the division.

ESPN specializes in silly hot takes. It's how they get ratings; be controversial, be edgy, and have strong media personalities argue ridiculous points while screaming over each other. Case in point: Jay Williams saying Durant, with a third title this year, is in the GOAT conversation.

If you watch first take you know that Kellerman cant go a day without saying someone or some team is the best ever at something the guy is ridiculous i used to like him when he was coming up on Friday Night Fights with Teddy and Brian Kenny but now hes nothing but a joke and shouldnt be taken serious by anyone.

Not this again........ Seem's like people like to abuse the Goat Status for basically anything.

For starters..... there's no such thing as the Goat. You can't compare eras, since medicine, training, the body's evolution changes over time. Things aren't the same like it was 30-50 years ago.

If people are so eager to label a number one. It should be the greatest of their era. It's fair, and a more realistic approach for a number one.

It's impressive for Pacquaio to fight Spence at 43. But it has been done already before. Hopkins and Formen did it at a later stage in their lives, and at a higher weight class.

This fight will cement Pacquaio status at the number 2 best of his era, and a legitimate candidate to be considered as an All-Time Great. But no matter how many great accomplishments Pacquaio does from now on. His loss to Mayweather will forever be a blemish to his impressive career. This is why he will be stuck at the second-best of his era.

This is what's wrong with boxing. People are labeling everyone as Goats or All-time greats. It's losing its meaning. People are labeling Tim Bradley, Terrance Crawford, Andre Ward as all-time greats? Like wtf, these guys are nowhere near prestige recognition the Oscar, Floyd, Cotto, Mosely, Ali, Tyson, Foreman, Hagler, Sugar Ray, etc.

Max Kellerman should know better. That was a stupid comment to make. It's all for views and likes.

These are excuses and they don't fly with me. If you're talking about the GOAT you're talking about the best. A GOAT has no business losing to torrecampo a guy he dwarfed in the ring and he got ktfo against something you fail to mention.

He got ktfo against Sangsurat as well you can't gloss over it. Bad loss

You mean the same faded Morales who beat pac who lost to a nobody in Raheem the very next fight? Why bring up pac beating a shot Morales in the second fight? He was clearly done in that fight. Yes it was a bad loss a GOAT doesn't lose that fight they alert their dominance against a faded erik Morales in the first fight. Bad loss and very telling about his true level.

The horn loss is a loss that can't even be defended a cherry pick gone wrong. People want to say it was a robbery they are wrong on two counts. A robbery is a fight where there is no case that the other guy won, which was not the case in this fight. Pea-jcc was a robbery no case can be made that jcc deserved a draw he lost clearly pac-horn doesn't fall into that category. Secondly, the fight shouldn't have been close in the first place. Horn is a school teacher and pac should've blown him out. Crawford had to show pac how to deal with trash like horn, you take them out. At the end of the day it's a horrible loss no excuses period.

If pac had like 2 loses let's say he only lost to Sangsurat and pbf then you might be able to make a case for him being the GOAT but even then it would be a hard one. Because his best win would still be MAB. But when you add up all the loses and the quality of fighters he beat he simply doesn't measure up to GOAT status let alone top 10 ATG level.

True the social media culture is quick to label someone the GOAT I see it all the time on social media they call trash rappers the GOAT and put this Goat emogi when referring to guys like lil pump or da baby. That word is given to people too easily nowadays and has almost lost its significance. It's been whored out and cheapened. Back in the day there was only one Goat and that was Ali or a guy like Michael Jordan now they giving the name out like candy.
