Eddie is not sounding so confident , in this interview he actually says "If AJ beats Usyk"............. This content is protected
No. There is a vast gulf in skill between the bodybuilder and Usyk. Roids and size don’t win fights.. Besides, Usyk isn’t that small. He’s definitely big enough to compete with the roid freaks like AJ
AJ is not the roid freaks. He's the World H.W. Champion who has the power to K.O. Usyk. This fight is not gonna be easy for both of them.
Yeah.....Pimp. That's what I'm thinking. Usyk will be sent to the canvas for the first time in his life.
I certainly wouldn't bet against Usyk. Usyk is a true winner who always finds a way to win. He's the far more talented overall fighter. Yes Joshua has the advantage in weight, and power. But in every other department Usyk is much better.
Imo the key to this is how Joshua conditions himself for the fight I think AJ has learned that 155+ is no good for him as it almost totally steals his stamina beyond Rd5 or if he has a huge round, expending energy but not getting his opponent out of there! Usyk has the skills to finish Joshua if he leaves himself vulnerable by either of the above scenarios. What he has also shown is that at 144 he can box and move while retaining his stamina over 12 rounds and at that weight he’s still too big, strong and hits too hard for almost everyone in the division. I believe Joshua’s best weight for the Usyk fight is low 140s and that will make him quick and slick enough to keep Usyk at distance while punishing Usyk with heavy shots that stop him from closing the distance and letting his own punches flow. The fight will either stay in that pattern and AJ wins on points or as I’m predicting, the cumulative effect of Joshua’s size and power will force an RSC or the towel being thrown in / stool retirement at the Rd 10 or 11 stage of the fight.
Joshua will overpower Usyk and win by knockout, Chisora has given Usyk a lot of problems and Joshua is more dangerous than Chisora in every way...
As crazy as this may sound, I am going for a late stoppage for Usyk. I just feel that he will box very smart, and Joshua will be missing his shots because he can't time him and be gassing by about the seventh/eighth. Forget Usyk's lack of power, he has enough and combined with his speed I can see him shaking Josh and stopping him in about eleven.
This would have been my prediction if Usyk was coming in 215lb weight region. 230, I'm not so sure about at all.
Should be a good fight. I'm not sure how it can go. AJ carries a lot of firepower. If he catches Usyk early he can win. Usyk has good movement and skills and stamina. He could conceivably keep the pace high enough that AJ gasses and gets stopped. It could go to the cards, where who knows what the judges will do. As much as we all wanted a unification fight, this is also a good match up.
