Cracked page 100 today, it's fascinating to see how much more devastating Jofre tended to be in rematches, spooky, Louis-like, he's picking up how people move and fight and uses it to detonate them. Some depth in South America; pictures are handy.

1959 up next, title this year.

Worth it though, some stand out stuff from the last 100 or so pages:

    - the chilling meeting with Frankie Carbo, Eder's promoter and his father. That is a crazy story. Not many stories like that about Carbo around. They tended to meet with Palermo.

    - Jofre sparring Perez

    - I'm now into the championship fights so there is lots more glorious detail

It's alright, it's currently under £20 on Amazon so I should just about avoid a talking-to.

That’s only on the UK Amazon for some reason. US it’s still full price.

I’m gonna put my salesman hat on here. I would recommend getting it now because I doubt the discount will last. It’s only UK Amazon doing that right now from my understanding. US it’s still full price $39.95 and showing “out of stock” but it’s not really out of stock. Barnes & Noble is where I recommend US customers go to.

Bravo on your write up of Barnardo Caraballo and his fight with Jofre. An excellent and very underrated fighter gets his due in your book.

Yeah, criminally overlooked. Unfortunately the only footage I’ve been able to obtain of him are full fights vs. Jofre and Harada plus highlights of the Chucho fight when I think he was already sliding. His record was fantastic. Beat some quality names.
