2 rounds seems to be about the mean when talking scoring for that fight.

Trevor was quite tough for sure, and more than a little bit ****ed in the head. Trevor did have his moments but his average power and Holmes good chin never let things get too exciting.

Berbick when he fought Thomas was in all likelihood about the same as when he fought Holmes. He never changed much at all and he was always inconsistent. It must be recognized that he also stopped Bey just prior to beating Thomas so he was in as good of form as ever.

I'd agree with your outcome, but a stoppage is very very unlikely as Holmes landed plenty of flush right hands on him with not much effect. But yes cannot see Berbick winning under any scenario. Holmes had plenty of assets to beat a non puncher in a bit of a brawl if need be and the jab would be scoring points as well at other times.

I'm with you here, and you made me reconsider the possible stoppage. Larry landed some crunching right hands during that fight and Berbick just wobbled his legs some. I think the jab bothered him WAY more, indeed he ended up being relatively gun shy in the last half of the fight directly due to that ugly left.

Whatever But remember Tex had been hit for 15 rounds against Larry Holmes, at the final bell Tex asked ref Steve Crosson for 3 more rounds saying " Give me 3 more rounds& I'll knock him out Larry cant hit me no more his hands hurt too much" lol Tex said Earnie was the only man that really hurt him

Are some of you kidding? Already forgotten Shavers got KOed by Quarry in ONE ROUND!?

Shavers is among the most overrated fighters ever. Maybe the hardest puncher in HW history, but would have lost to many HW fighters befor and after him.

Id say Povetkin beats him without question. And Lewis destroys him in 2-3 rounds.

If Lennox underestimates or doesn't prepare properly for Shavers like he did for Rahman and McCall then Earnie could quite easily get a brutal KO win here. As brilliant as Lewis was he had a history of being overconfident against opponents he was expected to beat easily.
A fully prepared and motivated Lewis however dispatches Shavers inside 6 rounds, might look similar to the Morrison win.

A focused Lewis would take Shavers out in 1 or 2 rounds just like he did Ruddock. I dont know why people are saying it would take 5 or 6

Exactly...in fact, both the Shavers 1 and Berbick fights could be considered artful (most especially the Shavers, as the Berbick fight had its rough edges due to Trevor's silly taunting...the kind that basically had him eating punches for practically the whole hour).

    Exactly.

Lewis definitely a heavy favorite, but never count Earnie Shavers out.

Because Lewis would fight careful like against Tua. Earnie is a huge puncher, bigger than Tua. Lewis fought aggressively bigger men but not against small men who could punch

Yes but he still landed significant punches on Tua, one of those probably would have knocked Shavers out
