How much of an impact did Sonny Liston have on George Foreman's life?

    Where was this from? He gave Liston a lot of credit , learned from him, told a story that Liston had him read a contract for him almost but not quite admitting that Liston couldn’t read or read well. Foreman also patterned himself after NFL legend Jim Brown saying he grew himself a mustache to look like Jim Brown.

    I think George definitely modeled his first career image on Liston, but only from a boxing standpoint. He didn't pick up Liston's personal habits of drinking and gambling.
