Who was the first fighter to drop Tommy Hearns and Mike McCallum?

Are you going to count the SRL stoppage? From memory a slip was ruled as a KD against Benitez. He was obviously down against Hagler. Fabrice Tiozzo for McCallum i reckon.

If we’re looking for one name and including sparring, amateur, etc., I’m going to go with Clint Jackson. He beat McCallum a couple of times in the amateurs and could easily encounter Hearns in a gym or an amateur bout that’s not recorded somewhere along the way.

It was counted as a KD, but I agree it really wasn't one.

The ref counted but the round wasn't scored 10-8.

 

It definitely wasn't a genuine KD and the judges viewed it that way. I take no notice of slips that are called KD's like this and say, Hagler - Roldan.

Boxrec - McCallum took an eight-count from the referee after going down early in the fifth round. None of the three judges counted it as a knockdown as it was a slip on water.

 

Interesting that the judges didn't follow the ref's ruling.
