No imo, but I wouldn't have a problem if he was inducted.

    No. Not at all.
Considering that he’s never held a real world title in an era where the talent in the heavyweight division is extremely weak, I wouldn’t say that he’s anything special in a historical sense.
He’s a very good, but not great fighter.
Beat old hasim rahman Who even in his prime wasn't anything special, old chris Byrd who was heavyweight in names.
Decent guys like Eddie chambers and Dillian whyte.
The only way he, and the other heavyweights that are fighting today can make it to the hall of fame is by buying a ticket.
Except for maybe Fury, if he beats Wilder, Usyk and Aj and wins the undisputed title.......

I don't see how.............he was good but not great, he was never the #1 guy at HW. Then again Arturo Gatti is in and I think Povetkin was far better vs. his peers than Gatti was so who knows.

If he got in, I wouldn't argue much. The lineup each year only picks a few people and there are guys that aren't in that would eventually be picked before him though.

There are champions generally regarded as lineal that didn't get inducted. He had a great career, but he doesn't deserve that.

He never ruled for a long period, no career defining wins against any top tier guys. No wins against top champs. His ethnicity isn't what's keeping him out. He just didn't do enough. In your opinion, what great wins or great streak justifies his entry?

No. The guy was a perennial contender in two of the weakest decades of heavyweight boxing history.

Look, I know you get a hardon when you think you have a chance to tear down an Eastern European fighter, but you're far beyond off the mark here. If you just count the wins over Whyte, Chagaev, Chambers, Fury, Price, Huck, Takam, Perez, Charr, Byrd, Rahman, Duhaupas, Hammer, Wach, Rudenko and Wawrzyk. That alone is Top 5, maybe Top 3 of his era stuff. His resume is actually more impressive than Wilder's and Fury's currently. If Bowe, Mancini, Tapia and Winky are worthy of inclusion, then Sasha definitely is.

The pros: 1. Olympic Gold Medalist (say what you will about pros and Amateurs if you have a gold along with a good career it’s a nice little nudge in your favor)
    2. No poor losses. Very big factor- he has 0 bad losses. Only losing by decision in his prime to Wlad. Then post prime to AJ and as a shot fighter to Whyte.
It separates him from many good contenders from other eras like Tim Witherspoon, Quarry etc guys that were good but had inexplicable losses on their ledger.
    3. A string of very good wins. Whyte, Chagaev, chambers, Byrd, Huck, Takam, Perez, Fury, Price,
    Etc.
Defeated a wide variety of styles of prime opponents over a very long period of time. Sturdy body of work.

The cons. - Never held a legit world title. I’m not sure any heavyweight of the modern era has not held a major title and gained induction. Unfortunately he was the top contender during a time the K brothers had an absolute lock on the belts.
    No true signature wins.
The performance enhancers- Although to me I don’t think this is a huge deal. Guys like Holyfield are in and guys like Fury could be getting in. So to me it’s not the strict curse some ppl make it.

I truly believe he is a borderline case. Would be nice for Russia and it is a global sport.
