It's pretty standard to be fair. See Liston vs Patterson or subsequently Liston vs Ali. Hearn's just doing his job, putting safeguards around his investment.
Usyk probably won't mind it, chance of two big pay days instead of one. He hasn't made that much money in his career and this will set him up for life.
how ? Is he doing best fights that people want to see ? Hyping guys that are not even an european levels, only to lose to a decent mexican fighter. Why do british people pushing that narrative ? How can you protect greedy promoter and even believe what he is saying ?
He pretty much made AJ V FURY, not his fault it collapsed. You see him literally everywhere making the bigger fights happen. He is better than Warren and Arum. It's not his fault fury vs wilder has a much easier fight to make than fury v joshua.
Yeah Usyk has agreed a rematch clause, I personally believe it was a bad move. But for what I understand he is being paid large for that rematch clause and if it all goes sideways against AJ then Hearn has to give him another big fight/big payday. It is what it is, Usyk has secured his future.
Name them. Which big fights happening this summer that involve Hearn ? I can name big fights that involve Arum and PBC which I don't even like. Really weird that Hearn is protected same way that he protects his fighters.
Great, that means we could see Fury vs Joshua pushed into next year. That's assuming, of course, that Joshua loses to Usyk and enacts the rematch clause. I've had this bad feeling, like a lot of people, that we might end up with a unification featuring Wilder vs Usyk come the end of the year/early next year. If they win, then fair enough - but as a fight fan I think Fury vs Joshua is the more appealing of the various permutations. Fury should not underestimate Wilder, and AJ should definitely not underestimate Usyk.
So you are saying that best promoter by far don't have big fights in 3 months while others are having even Undisputed fight ?
If you have to go back nearly 60 years to Liston-Patterson for an example, it's not standard fair. (LOL) And, for the record, Ali was stripped by the WBA when he signed to give Liston a rematch because the WBA thought immediate rematches were "bad" for boxing, so not a good example.
