Conor Benn never wins a world title.

But I think he can win a European title as well as minor world title belts.

He done amazingly well compared to where he was when he first turned professional in 2016. You very rarely see a boxer improve as much as he has done.

never say never, everything might happen. We had some damn loud upsets when total underdogs had finished champ in distance.
    I really do not know.

Can't really gauge him at this point. He needs to step up first, in order to get a decent read.

Yeah and this is even in local scene small hall events too.
I always remember how much one lad get for his pro debut fight ( he wasn't am boxing superstar ) and compared this with how much get for debut one local clown with another opponent in this event.
The difference between them was that lad who had been paid lesser than this clown for his debut fight had good pro career, he was able to get 3 belts, full world title belts.
Clown? When he get first boxer from top 500 in the ring, he lost this fight on hometown cards despite he was tickets seller. He looked so boring and awful vs approx 500 th ranked boxer_________

In pro boxing sadly yeah, money you are able to earn depends from multiple variables, first of them: how well known you are.

You don't think he can be world champion in 2 or 3 years, once the top guys move up or retire?

    Is Conor too small though?

When I think of someone like Porter, or Spence jnr, Conor seems quite small by comparison.

Is it possible he doesn't ballon up as much in the 24-36 hours between the weigh in and the fight, compared to some of the top guys?

I mean, I think it's safe to assume Spence jnr is definitely not 147 pounds in the ring for the first bell.

    Ditto Porter, Crawford etc...

When I look at the number of world class guys in his peer group (the same age as him or 2-3 years younger or older than him). I just dont see him ruling the roost at world level. I think starting boxing late like he did carries a major disadvantage. We saw how much of a novice he was when he turned pro. Too much of a gap to bridge in my view.

If the boxer can punch hard and is precise, sometimes 1 single punch changes all fight.
For example these fights: Linares vs Loma. There were some IFs, the biggest question in boxing is word IF.
IF Linares in this fight managed to drop Loma again and again, he had won this vs Loma via stoppage win. Once he managed to drop Loma, so there if he managed to do this again and again did not had even mattered will be Loma hurt or no. Only thing he needed to achieve next counts done on Loma that all.
Loma looks that had landed on Linares properly, still Loma's head punching did not worked on Linares effectively.
Then: 1 single liver punch and decent KO stoppage achieved.

Glowacki vs Huck in US is damn decent example of upset in fight where one looks that had won all fight and did not had won.
Huck looked impressive and no doubts that he clearly had won rounds, even managed to drop Glowacki and battered him.
Fight get till end, Huck did 1 single mistake and Glowacki cached him with single punch.
From this he wasn't done but Glowacki used that he was dizzy and battered him heavily & achieved win via brutal stoppage.

Eleider Alwarez vs Kovalev I : all looked OK, lost attention for short moment and Eleider brutally beated him up.
This looks that was most brutal punishment Kov ever had in his life. He get multiple KDs and they were brutal.

These just some from such kind of fights.

    Of course not likely.
Maybe Pacman was even lesser than 147 lbs, cos he weighted in at 142 lbs? for one fight.
Boxers at 147 lbs usually are 146-146.9lbs in weight ins.
All these boxers, regardless of their division, be it 126 lbs, 130, 140, 147 are heavier in the ring and this is allowed.
By weight % looks that cruiserweight lads cuts lesser % than all other weight class. This looks is because all these walking 220lbs and heavier try to be HW boxers. In US HW pays more than CW.

I think he can beat and outbox Shawn Porter (who's not a great boxer).

Can he beat Spence and Crawford? Not likely.

Porter is sort of like Conor in that he is a bit more of a rough house brawler type who likes to come forward, wouldn't you say?

I'm not a huge fan of Porter and haven't seen a lot of his fights, but the stuff I have seen this was the impression I got.

As for Spence jnr and Crawford, they are just a bit too big, and too slick...at least for the Conor Benn we have now.

He has a chance to become a World champ t some point. Not because of skill but because Eddie will manufacture his path. There will be a vacant strap at some point, he will be put up against relatively modest competition. Gain a strap and they will sing to the high heavens that he is the second coming of his father, bla bla, bla. Sell a ton of tickets fighting had beens, make some good change and when he is forced to fight a real world operator (cash out time) he will get his ass knocked out.

I think Conor has a good shot at beating him. Porter comes in and tries to bull rush his opponents leaving himself open to be hurt numerous times. He's a bit sloppy and untidy. His punches often hit gloves and don't always land clearly. He makes it tough for judges to score with his work.

I think Porter is a bit overrated and Conor is still a bit of an unknown quantity. I think from what i've seen Conor seems more textbook with his punches and seems to be more of an effective aggressor. Whereas Porter misses a lot and head hunts leaving his opponents to land on him.

Conor has less mileage on the clock and seems hungrier than Porter. Porter can be hurt and stopped yet he hasn't been yet. He's eventually going to be ripe enough for the pickings as he gets on in age.

I think a Conor Benn vs Shawn Porter fight will come down to the mental and physical aspects of the boxing game. If Conor boxes and doesn't let the occasion get the better of him then i think he'll win comfortably.

It's a great fight. Porter might try to ''old man'' him and let his experience show but i think he lacks some boxing ability and Ring IQ. Benn seems like a quicker learner whereas Porter hasn't really improved much of his boxing game because he doesn't think he has to.

Like you say, a path may emerge to a title, but it may lack credibility.

I thought you might have sided with Porter as he looks a lot bigger to me...or am I wrong there?

Do we know if Conor has real knock out power, especially when it comes to tough, experienced guys?

Do we know if Conor can take a big shot from a heavy handed guy?

These are the questions that will be answered as he progresses through the rankings.
